Fandom Pride Picnic: The Park, Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday's rainbow was still going strong, the weather was still beautiful, and the flowers that had sprouted up for yesterday were still in full bloom, all reaching up toward that rainbow the way most flowers reached for the sun.

In the park, a veritable miniature carnival had sprung up, with a ball pit (stocked with balls in all colours of the rainbow, of course) and giant inflatable kraken slide for all to enjoy. There was also a stage for any entertainers who might want a spotlight this afternoon, and there were several booths, in case people wanted to set up to hand out informational pamphlets (in the spirit of Pride, naturally), or set up a kissing booth for charity or any such thing they pleased.

Plus, food. Of course food. It would be a pretty sad picnic without that.

And so, the park was geared up for a party. Come one, come all!

[OOC: Open for business! Come in, be proud!]

Lucille couldn't help being just a little curious about all the flags, and she figured Sparkle would be the right person to ask. Besides, he had been very helpful when he visited, so she owed him a thank you. Lucille wasn't good at expressing gratitude, but in this case she actually meant it.

"Sparkle!" She greeted him with a sincere smile. "It is good to see you again."

"It is hardly a common event where I am from," she said, half smiling. "I am not familiar with all the flags though."

"Oh, I see." Lucille wasn't sure she did. "So does the way people see themselves differ much from how others see them, then?"

"I would say that there are more such people in this time than in my own, at least," Lucille said. "Questioning the opinions of others about we are leave us with so many options. Not a bad thing, but complicated."

"I meant more people who won't accept," Lucille clarified. "Which makes it harder for those who need it to even understand that there is a possibility to make your own choice."

"Did you not know then, when you were younger, or were you just afraid?"

"Sometimes hiding is the best choice," Lucille noted. "It isn't the same as not knowing who we are. People are often cruel."

She reached out for a rainbow flag. "Do these have different meaning, then?"

"Not selling clothing?" Tony said, looking over the sign at the possible charities.

"Fair enough, fair enough," Tony replied. Because Tony was used to being a billionaire and spending a lot all at once was... on a different level.

Sorry, Sparkle.

"But it looks like a nice turn out."

Tony had to laugh at that. "And I'm used to the New York version. It's a small town. So, statistically, it's a good turn out. I have a degree in math. You'll have to trust me."

Now he was just teasing.

"Drama camp is definitely like getting a degree in bullshit. It's up there with getting a degree in media relations," Tony agreed, glancing around like he was confirming that along with Sparkle.

Sparkle, that's what podcasts were for.

"Aww, they're not too difficult to deal with."

Said Tony Stark.

"That might complicate things, yes." Tony replied slowly.
