All and Sundries, 4/29

Edmund is in, still reading travel brochures and giving thanks that he never did anything foolish like have children.

All and Sundries is open and Edmund is eminently tormentable.

[ooc: It's nigh on 7am (sort of) and I've had less than two hours of sleep. I'm off to grab a couple more and then will be back for Edmund to be rude to small children. Aaaand, I think I'm back.]

"My mum always said that a bath was a surefire way to invite the plague." Baldrick looked very proud of himself. "So I never bathe and I have never had the plague."

"What's the plague?" Angela asked, waiting for the man to recover her icing. "Oooh, oh, d'you have icing that's pink? Or purple?"

Baldrick looked around and retrieved a tub of pink icing. "It's when you get very, very sick and die."

Angela stuck two fingers in her mouth for comfort. "That's bad," she said, talking around them. "Does it happen a whole lot?"

"Lots, but not if you don't take a bath. There's never been a Baldrick died of plague." Dysentery was another matter.

Angela nodded solemnly. "I'm never taking a bath ever ever again," she said. "Ever."

She pointed to the icing. "Okay, I can pay for everything now, okay?"

"Smart girl." Baldrick took her selections to help the nice little miss get them to the counter for Mr. Blackadder to ring up.

Angela's eyes were just over the edge of the counter as she waited to be checked out. "Thank yoooou, Mr. Grocery Store People," she chirped.

Edmund rang up her purchases. "Now you give me the money and I give you some other money back," he explained very slowly.

Angela rolled her eyes and handed all of her money over. "I do this all the time," she said.

Edmund rolled his eyes back at her and handed back most of her money and proper change. Stealing from a wee'un just wasn't as much fun.
