At the border of the Fandom Wildlife Preserve: afternoon

Susan waited for Peter and Willow, and checked her watch, hoping Jenny could make it, or catch up with them later. The trip out to see the dryads had buoyed her after yesterday's talk with Peter, and she was now nearly fizzing with anticipation.

She just hoped the afternoon didn't become awkward for any reason.

[for [livejournal.com profile] willbedone and [livejournal.com profile] once_a_king, but [livejournal.com profile] romany_witch is welcome too, if she can make it]

"No," Willow said. "I live in Three-Toed Sloth. Nobody plays any pranks on us. I haven't figured out if that's a good or bad thing yet."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-30 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Probably a good thing," Peter replied, following the two girls through the grass. "Unless you'd like to get involved in the prank war?" There may have been an evil gleam in his eye.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-30 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Willow gave him a suspicious look. "Define 'involved'."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-30 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"I certainly wouldn't want you to feel left out of a summer camp experience," Peter said solemnly.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-30 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"I notice that lacked a definition," Willow pointed out.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-30 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"It may have," Peter admitted. "You could be involved in an advisory capacity. For some reason, I think you wouldn't have a problem thinking up good pranks."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-30 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why, Peter, I would never do anything like that," Willow said, looking perfectly innocent.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
"No?" Peter said, grinning. "I must be horribly mistaken then. My gravest apologies. I wonder how I ever could have thought such a thing."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Be more careful next time," Willow told him, grinning back. She pretended to look thoughtful. "Of course if you wanted someone to help you figure out what would be very wrong to do - so you could avoid doing it of course - I'd be happy to."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps if we were just speaking hypothetically then, because hypothetically I think my cabin may be in trouble. And of course, I'd want to avoid in wrong actions in responding to such trouble."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Very wise of you," Willow said. "Of course I'd want to help make sure you stayed out of trouble, and that you committed no wrong actions."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
"We're just speaking hypothetically, Su," Peter said, laughing. "Unlike a certain time I remember with a basket of strawberries, a staircase, and Lucy's favourite doll..."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I greatly appreciate your concern," Peter replied with a grin. "Because I would, in no way, want to think about possibilities of revenge if this hypothetical situation arose." He looked over at Willow. "How do you feel about making off with people's clothes as a prank? Overdone, right?"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
"It depends on when you make off with them," Willow said. "And what you do once you have them. For instance, holding them for ransom would be very wrong."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Another bad thing to do with them is put them in the principal's office." Peter paused. "Or so I've heard. No personal experience there."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Likewise finding a way to shrink the clothes just a tiny bit," Willow said. "So that they look fine when you give them back but still don't fit when they try to wear them."

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Willow looked uncertain, not sure if she was expected to go wading as a part of the process.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Peter smiled at Willow and may have splashed a bit of water in her direction.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Well obviously that sort of thing couldn't be put up with. Willow kicked off her shoes and socks - glad she hadn't gone with her first instinct to wear tights - put them by the bag with the CDs and the player, and went wading into the water.

She might've had a crafty look, like she was waiting for Peter to turn his back so she could splash him.

Following Susan's lead, Peter also took off his shoes and socks and waded into the water. "Bit colder than it is at home, though," he commented.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Peter grinned back at Susan at her 'winter forever' remark.

As he rounded the bend as well, he heard the unmistakable sounds of the a dryads' grove. It hadn't been a long time since Peter had met with dryads, but he smiled in recognition as he saw a silver Aspen swaying in the wind.
