Fandom High Welcome Picnic, The Park, All Day: Part II

"Then you won't mind if I walk with you?" Johnny waved his arm, encouraging her to walk with him.

"What grade are you in, Jaina?"

Walking along, she answered, "Sophomore. I think I got the word right. Yourself?"

He quirked a brow, giving her a sideways glance, "Sophomore, and you did, and I'm guessing you're not from around here? And I'm a junior."

"Coruscant," she said. It was the easiest answer she could give, really. "You're not from that area, are you? I have to check now."

"Never heard of it," Doesn't mean it wasn't in the states though. "I'm from New York City; ever been there?

"Nope," she said. "Never heard of it, either. Is it local?"

"It's a good four hours drive from here. Not bad." At the refreshment table, Johnny grabbed a soda, "What'll you have?"

"Um, whatever that is, I guess," Jaina said, brushing her hair out of her face. "So what brings you here, Johnny?"

He handed her a soda, first popping the top for her, "My parents thought it would be good for me." He grumbled. He was still miffed about that but there was nothing he could do about it. "I think my sister had a hand in it too though she would certainly deny it." He grumbled more and took a good swallow from his can.

"What about you, Jaina?

She took the can, trying the soda. Not bad. "Training," she said. "What better place to try out some skills than someplace that gets invaded regularly?"

He nodded, smirking, "You are right there. And between me and you? I wouldn't mind being able to torch something at least once while I'm here."

She glanced at him and asked, "Torch?"

"That's what the ladies call me. Torch." He turned his body a little and showed her what he meant. Snapping his fingers, he instantly produced a fire ball.

"Impressive," Jaina said with a nod. "And the ladies really call you Torch?"

"They do. Back home that is. And maybe not all of them, just some of them." He smiled, being his totally charming self. Or trying.

She didn't actually believe him. "I'm gonna call you Johnny," she informed him.

"Hey, that's perfectly fine with me. It's my name." Johnny casually checked her out. "So, you wanna go out sometime? Get to know each other, do the whole new student thing?"

Jaina couldn't give any guarantees about how that would go, but it could be interesting. "You sure about that?"

He paused, arched a brow, "Sure about going out?" Was this a trick question? The girl was totally hot. "I don't think I could be more sure about anything else in my life." Right now that is.

She knew this could be a bad idea, but she was used to dealing with Kyp, and he couldn't possibly be worse than that. "Okay," she said. "Name the time and place."

Johnny had to think for a moment. Had he made any precvious dates yet? He didn't think so.

"You opposed to going out during the week? I'd like to check out that zombie band in town sometime in the very near future."

"Zombie band?" she repeated. "Um, yeah. I kind of haven't made any plans yet."

"It's what I've heard. A real zombie band." He smiled, leaned a little closer, "So, how does Tuesday night sound?"

"Good," he said, not moving either. "I'll pick you up at your cabin say handwavy FH time that evening. What's the name?"
