The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor. It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas. Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom. Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner. The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

Mel was checking out everyone's outfit and evaluating what kind of weapons could be stashed in them. She had three stakes stashed in her dress (http://www.bluefly.com/pages/products/zoom.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=2065321421&productCode=2090988&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1215).

No she wasn't going to show you where.

Katara was possibly far too excited when she spotted Mel. She bounced over to her, hair flying about. "You came! I was home to see you!"

"Hey Kat!" Mel said with a grin. "Love the hair and the dress! You whould wear your hair down more often."

She spun around, letting her hair and skirt play out. "I might! I like it like this!" Katara grinned back at Mel. "I like your dress too. Having fun?"

"Zuko is a pain in my ass," Mel said with a grin. "But that's nothing new. I'm having fun and you look like you are having a blast. Are you here with anyone?"

Katara laughed. "Hey, you chose to date him. That's all on you." She nodded excitedly, glancing over across the room. "I'm here with Zack. It's an awesome night."

"Zack, huh?" Mel said trying to nudge her a bit. "Is it just for the dance or..."

She raised an eyebrow to show her amusement.

"Um," she blushed. "Just for the dance, I think."

Mel saw the blushing and debated whether she should go directly into teasing mode. "Oh? You think? I mean he's kinda cute."

"He's pretty cute," Katara agreed, still looking blushy. "Nice too."

"I think somebody is smitten!" Mel sang.

"I'm not smitten!" Katara instantly argued. "Not at all! Just because I am having fun with a boy!"

Mel just crossed her arms. "Riiiiiight."

Katara eyed her. "Speaking of smitten, how is Zuko?"

"He's still a pain in the butt. But a good kisser," Mel snarked. "Don't change the subject. Have you kissed him yet?"

"Zuko? No...he's dating you, remember?" she said quickly.

"No. Zack, not Zuko. Nice try Katara."

"It was worth a try," Katara pointed out looking hopeful. "I haven't kissed Zack."

"Why not?" Mel asked. "You said he was cute."

"Cause!" There was flailing and blushing. "I don't know him that well!"

Mel raised him an eyebrow. "So?"

"...I don't have an argument anymore," she admitted.

"Good. Now go smooch!" Mel ordered.

Katara looked over across the floor then back to Mel. "What if he doesn't want to?"

"Have you seen yourself?" Mel asked referring to Katara's ensemble. "Trust me. It's a done deal."
