The Park, Saturday Evening

The ceremony had been beautiful. And the evening was only getting started. The guests were ushered into the large tent that had been erected (hee) in the park earlier in the day. The caterers had delivered and set up food and enough free alcohol to drink the entire town into a coma.

Of course, there was a special area reserved for the squirrels with dessert nuts and high-quality rum to keep Vala and Barney's smallest guests happy while they took their notes and danced the night away.

Pleased workers did a last check of the tables and cigar centerpieces before the guests and the wedding party arrived. The wedding reception was set to go exactly as planned.

[The reception, like the wedding, is open to everyone in Fandom. Once I put up some OCD Now.]

"There is a lot to be said for the comfort of a good pair of jammies, though," Daisy pointed out with a grin. "And, from what I've been reading up on, comfortable loungewear is hardly the strangest thing I've come across."

Biff grinned. "I'll wear my footie pajamas to work tomorrow, then. What's the strangest thing you've come across?"

"Meditation center, right?" Daisy grinned back. "I will stop in to see, you know. And I can't quite decide. It's either one of the many strange invasions this place has encountered from very odd things, or the fact that my new colleagues at the station seem to actually not mind talking to me."

"Why would they mind talking to you?" Biff asked.

[Night! SP ftw?]

"Oh, well, you know," Daisy waved a hand. "Cops."

She then lifted her empty cup, wrangling some attention from the bartender to fill her up another one.

"Cops don't enjoy talking with beautiful, intelligent women?" Biff blinked. "Their loss."

"Cops don't like," Daisy allowed herself to say it with a wry grin as she received her next drink, "beautiful, intelligent women making them look bad."

And she could certainly drink to that, even if she felt she'd already said more than she should on the matter. But she was a whole country away and at a party, and she'd just try to get the conversation off work politics in just a bit.

"Then I'd be happy to spend more time with you," Biff offered generously, "so you're not lonesome."

"Let's not forget," Daisy said with a laugh, "that I'm in a whole new country now, too. Plenty of opportunity to feel lonesome."

"We can't have that," Biff declared solemnly.

"Oh, no." With great effort, Daisy managed to pull herself up straight and nod with the utmost of gravity. "We mustn't."

Biff grinned. "Should we make a time for me to show you around, then?"

"I think that could be worked into my schedule," Daisy agreed. "Would at least break up the repetition of doing nothing but reading through all those reports and crashing wedding receptions, anyway!"

"I'm much more interesting than reports," Biff promised. "How's your Wednesday?"

"I don't know," Daisy laughed. "You haven't read some of them! But my Wednesdays are workable. What did you have in mind?"

"You like pizza?" Biff asked. "I can give you a tour of the island and we can stop for food after."

"Pizza's doable," Daisy said with a nod, figuring she'd handle the problem of the inevitable grease when she came to it. "So that plan sounds great."

"It's a date, then," Biff said, grinning.

"It's a date," Daisy agreed, with a nod, and a pretty accomplished grin. This was what crashing weddings was all about, wasn't it?

Oh, that and the drinks. Definitely the drinks.
