Marion and Tino were drinking chocolate milk tonight, trying to get rid of the excess stock that had been called for the weeness last weekend. It wasn't half bad when you added vodka.

It was, she realised, the best of small talk, as she realized she knew absolutely nothing about this man besides his name, his association with the fight club, and that he was cute.
And then she remembered that that was still one up on what she knew about people she'd met up with at bars prior to the move here.

Part of Daisy was wondering if she should have been able to figure it out; she did type up every radio broadcast for the records, but that didn't mean she really retained much of that information unless it was immediately important or interesting.

Conversation was nicer when it made sense.
"This place isn't terribly big on crime," he agreed. "It's more tame than I think most of the people around here are used to, for that matter. No war, hardly any use for the clinic unless monsters are invading. I suppose one thing serves to even out the next."
