T&C, Monday, 8/9
Didi wasn't sure she needed to go to work today; she wasn't even certain the store would be there.
But it was, and she went about her morning tasks with the fervor of a girl who needed a distraction. When she was done, she sat on the stoop outside the shop, arms wrapped around her legs.
It still felt good to breathe clean air.
[OOC: OCD went out for a newspaper and never came back.]

Here was good and he plopped down beside Didi, stretching long legs out in front of him. "Hey."

She let out a long ragged breath. "I'm okay. The whole thing just made me feel really helpless."

Way to state the obvious.

"Messed up," he mumbled, eloquently.

What was it that she'd said? She was burning and there was the picture at the church of the woman burning.

This was a hard one, was what she thought. She'd put together the same pieces as Jake.
"I think two wrongs don't make a right," she said carefully. "And I think the little girl was as stuck there as anybody else, and if she'd been able to let go, it would've given her peace. But I also think I understand why she did it, if she was really in control."

Maybe Edward Cullen.

She leaned back. "Pizza sounds good. I had a hot dog."

What? Okay, so it was a terrible joke and maybe it was just funny to him, but he couldn't quite let it lie. She was welcome to hit him for the bad taste.
