Yeah, Nikolai was actually facing the music today. And yeah, he was doing it from his shift at the Arms, so that he'd have a convenient excuse to hang up if need be. Especially since most of his mother's questions were being answered with blatant lies.

"Yeah, Mana, it's this little town just off Baltimore. Heh, yeah, I wouldn't have thought of myself as a small town guy, either. But there's fewer lights. Easier on, you know, the eyes. Yeah, yeah, the specialist is in Baltimore. Hm? Oh, bad blood transfusion. Remember that trip to Greece? Yeah. Rock climbing. I know you hate it, Mana, but I'll probably be a daredevil until it kills me. Yeah, a motorbike too. Yeah, I'll be more careful. I know you worry. How are things back home? The Seventeens? You sure you don't want to move? Look, that neighborhood isn't the same as it used to be, is all. Yeah, I know you can handle yourself..."

His conversation with his mother was probably going to continue on this way for a while.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

Nikolai hated when phone calls served only to replace one worry with another.

It seemed like a good day for Travis to make sure he could still skateboard. Before he'd died, his time on a skateboard had been absolutely nil. After, with Hatton's encouragement, he'd given it a try and found that he could actually skateboard and skateboard well. Hatton had called it muscle memory, something Jeremy Pratt's body remembered and Travis was willing to go with that even if it was creepy.

He'd woken up this morning wanting to get out of his room and out of the building and soak up some fresh air so he'd grabbed the battered board he'd picked up before leaving Kansas City and had taken it out. Most places in town were full of steps and he wasn't about to break his neck trying to be tricky around those. Not a chance.

Eventually, his feet took him to the boardwalk which provided a nice, flat surface, a great view, and good weather. Travis closed his eyes and smelled the salty sea air, let the breeze move through his hair before he opened his eyes and jumped on the board.

His body immediately remembered what was going on, what it was doing and soon enough he was skating slickly down the boardwalk, standing tall and assured. Travis didn't remember having this kind of balance before but hey, amazing what a new body could do for you, right?
