It was Emma's first shift, and she was dutifully putting away the delivery that had been waiting when she opened the shop. At least until she came to a crate stamped with unfamiliar angular writing.

"...the hell?" Were these gummies armed with little laser swords? And why did half of them have ridiculous hair?

With the new semester and new people on island, and also a holiday that just so happened to fall on Kitty's shift, those were as good excuses as any for a party. Plus they got to do so with margaritas and nachos, and who didn't like margaritas and nachos?

Tino was at the bar if anyone just wanted to hang out there, but the back room was where the people were. Hopefully. Shut up, Kitty totally still didn't get paranoid no one would show up, really.

It turned out that saying you were going to arrange things in your Realm so you could spend more time on a particular version of earth was much easier than doing it. By the time Death had negotiated the details with her other aspects to ensure no creature in the multiverse would die unattended while she was preoccupied, several weeks had passed since Didi's last visit to Fandom.

She had a bit of a history with the park in the island, so she bought some bread and went there as a way to pass time while she figured out what to do next. If she was sticking around for a while, she'd want a job and a place to stash her stuff, even if she didn't strictly need either.

But there was no rush on any of that. For now, there were ducks and flamingos to feed, and the sunlight on her bare shoulders to appreciate. It was enough.

There were tiny pies cooling on several of the windowsills in the post office today, most of them with wedges of various sizes cut out of them already. Éponine wasn't bothering to ask where they'd come from or why they were there, but her plans to appropriate what looked like a tiny blueberry pie for breakfast were put on hold once she saw the small band of gremlins scurrying around.

They kept arranging the pies in different layouts on the floor in one corner of the lobby, and appeared to be arguing over them: there was a lot of pointing, and wild gesticulating, and some high-pitched indecipherable bickering to go with it all.

If the gremlins had something to do with this, then Éponine had no intention of eating the damned things, which was more than a little bit annoying.

"Really," she grumbled at them, "what's the point of having all those pies if you're not going to eat them?"

[OOC: No OCD, open, usual daytime SP caveat applies. This post brought to you by me drowning in Excel charts today . . .]

So, Luke's was appropriately-themed today. The Mexican flag hung in one of the windows, there were little potted cacti on each of the booths, and mariachi music was playing loudly through the kitchen. Nobody was wearing a poncho, a sombrero, or a fake mustache, so Hardison was going to call it a win. "Woo, no racism, good job, y'all! So proud."

Look, the last time he'd been in the diner, they'd thrown him to a tentacle monster. Hardison's opinion of the staff wasn't very high right now.

It was Jessica's first day working as manager of the same old brand new Stark's and that meant all the paperwork that Tony didn't want to do. And once that was done, she'd be able to start working on her plans for a portal that might be able to find her home.

The old, quaint looking 'HELP WANTED' sign was still in the window in case anyone needed work. Or repairs and work. If they only needed repairs, the sign would mean nothing to them, but she would still be here for that, too.
