Community Center Class: Tactics Pancake!!! | Monday
Class, Nina was coming to realize, was a lot of work. Like, sure, it would have been easier if she had the Danger Shop at her disposal (and she was still considering seeing if Mae would let her borrow the Holo-Scene-place if need be for later classes) but, like, for now it was a lot of work but, as she sat back on her heels and surveyed the incredible, intricate chalk-work she'd done all over the floor, walls, and ceiling today……
Well, like, it was also super satisfying???
She clapped her hands together, grinning at the chalk dust that puffed off of them, and then went to wash her hands, checking the time as she did so. Good, good, she was right on time.
Fifteen minutes later, it was about time for class to start. The first thing her so-called students would note as they approached her classroom would be the tables and chairs neatly stacked outside of the classroom.
They weren't going to need them today.
At the front of the classroom was a narrow square free of chalk and upon that square she stood. By the door was another area clear of chalk and, not entirely trusting her students (look, she'd met both Lox Bagel and Eggolas and should, like, anyone else show up, well, she'd met a lot of the island; her lack of trust was justified), should they try to go past her chalk lines they'd encounter a barrier of air, preventing them from moving forward and bringing ruination to her efforts to be incredibly extra.
Nina adjusted her hat, in full costume today, just because she could be, shook her hands out (they ached from all her work) and grinned.
"Compatriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last time, like, we discovered who you were and obtained our quest—that is, Princess Danisha has gathered you, a small, elite force, to locate and rescue the missing Prince Streuselas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now your epic quest begins in earnest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, should anyone have missed last week's class, please speak up now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
But was it epic? Was it really? Nina was going to do her best to make it so!
Either way, once she'd potentially dealt with new compatriots, she carried on.
"As clever, if rather strange companions," she said, because yes, they were both rather strange, "the first thing to do is gather clues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Princess Danisha has granted you free rein of the locales that dear, misplaced Prince Streuselas," misplaced, Nina? "frequented before he was stolen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Nina clapped her hands together.
"Of course, like, Sir Eggolas, as Prince Streuselas' guard, should be familiar with these places………………. But will Lox Bagel's fresh eyes find the clues faster??????????????????? Is it even really a competition?????????????????"
It was not, Nina.
"After all," she said, eyes bright, as she gestured expansively at the chalk-covered room, "the most important thing is saving the prince to save the kingdom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And to, like, reunite him with Princess Danisha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Nina's chin lifted as her hands dropped abruptly, slashing through the air, her fingers snapping. The sound echoed, the chalk seemed to shiver and then the entire room was plunged into what was a castle out of sheer fantasy. Lush greenery and trees with huge, vivid blossoms in purples, pinks, and whites clustered about a castle that was incredibly bright, with blue-topped towers and red and yellow accents along the walls… this was clearly not a castle that had ever been built to be meant for war.
Perhaps a culinary war, at the very most. Or a fashion battle…
With her body hidden behind her magical construct—which was good, because that meant no one could see how she was using the wall to hold herself up as the magical effort of invoking all of these spells at once left her a bit dizzy and weak; she was fine, she'd be fine, just had to recover a bit—Nina smiled, in triumph, and dropped the air barrier that kept her class from stepping forth.
Her voice echoed forth, "Brave ones, remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fate of the world rests upon your hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
[OCD incoming! OCD has been achieved! GO FORTH!]

Listen to the... Lecture?
Or poke at the air barrier and wonder what the chalk everywhere—literally everywhere—means.
Re: Listen to the... Lecture?
For one thing, he didn't actually know the term "LARP" existed. . . .
New Compatriots!
[*If anyone wants to join in, ping here first, yo, so that Nina can get an idea of who your
D&Dcharacter is! If you don't have a name in mind, Nina will gleefully give you a breakfast-y name.I have a list.]Re: New Compatriots!
"What is happening."
It was amazing?
Re: New Compatriots!
"So, like, the Kingdoms of Pancakeia and Crepelandia are in grave danger by the Evil Lord Flatcake who is wielding the power of SPATULA against them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
If Sabine was noticing a theme with the names, well, it was certainly a Thing.
"And, like, the only thing that can save the world according to an ancient prophecy is the power of love between Princess Danisha and Prince Streuselas but the prince has gone missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was very, very tragic. "Princess Danisha has assembled an elite force comprised of, well, you and your classmates to locate the missing prince and assist in saving the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Nina clapped her hands together.
"So, like, are you up for it??????????????? Princess Danisha has faith in you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, if you're in, tell me, tell us, who are you????????????????????"

She was super not sorry, Bus Dean.
"But first, tell me, who are you??????????????????"

So, of course, she just had to check this out.
And then the whole castle... thing... happened, and what even was that, because no gift from her world could manage anything like that.
"Okay, wow," she managed.
Introduction? What introduction?
[ooc: super slow bc I'm about to flee for work, but I haaad to.]
Re: New Compatriots!
Nina was starting to think that, like, possibly she was going to just skip the whole 'letting people name themselves' bit, and name them all.
Sure, Lox Bagel had gotten it, but the stunned and startled reactions she'd received elsewise…
"Compatriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dearest companions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It was super exciting to see so many more faces today!
"Welcome, welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Princess Danisha is glad of your response to her summons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, pray tell me, do I have the honour of addressing Lady Omeleta and her loyal companion Baconel????????????????????"
Well.
It gave them an out.
… Nina was still probably going to call them Omeleta and Baconel for the rest of class though.
[All hail the SP!]

And, needless to say, he was...not disappointed.
"That's about the softest thing I've ever seen." He quirked a brow at Nina. "That's 10-ply, bud."
Re: New Compatriots!
Ignore everything he'd said.
"Dread Sausafesge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, gasping. "Even you are heeding Princess Danisha's summons?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ???????????????????????????"
And give him a terrible breakfast name.
In her defense, she was giving everyone a terrible breakfast name.

Search for Clues!
The Prince's Bedroom
Perhaps an indication of his state of mind? Perhaps a sign of his soul's disquiet?
Perhaps it was just because he liked darker colours!
In any case, a thorough search of his room would turn up a locked journal (which, unlocked, would hold a great deal of rambling about the kingdom, the state of the war, and his love for Princess Danisha), a few maps of the nearby countryside and, under the bed, in a hard to reach corner, would be a faded and creased sheet of parchment whereupon the barely legible words indicate that the prince had been looking for…
A specific pirate prayer?

Courtyard Gardens
In the grass underneath one of the benches, in a corner of the gardens that is rarely disturbed, is a coin.
From Waffledonia.
Now, just what is that doing there?

Training Yard
Nothing is out of place here, but perhaps some of the trainees have observations about the Prince's behaviour?
Re: Training Yard
Re: Training Yard
Chapel
There was nothing of use to be found amongst the pews—a few forgotten handkerchiefs, cleaned and tucked away for their owners to find the next time they attended, some leaves, and what looks like a child's ribbon—but perhaps the clerics, dutifully cleaning the altar might be of assistance?

Talk to Professor Argentum!
She's around, if not visible, for the entirety of class.
Afterwards, she's there in her totally awesome costume and looking a bit pale and tired but, hey, it's all good!
Re: Talk to Professor Argentum!
"Nina..." he said, with an almost lightly warning sort of tone, because, hey, he knew enough about her magic to know that this couldn't have been easy on her and he knew enough about her to know that she'd deny that it wouldn't have been easy on her. "You're heading back now that class is over, riiiiight?"
