Town Hall, Friday
Dark clouds were packing above the island.
Jesse didn't like it.
She'd shoved open her office door and kept it that way with a stack of binders, just in case anyone else thought they might need to knock. The amount of paper on her desk had now started to flood the floor.
"There has to be something."

Talk to Jesse

Re: Talk to Jesse
"Got my psychic resonator from back home. Put myself into mode where I could experience REM sleep," he said putting the stack of papers on the desk. "And like everyone else on the island? Had a few nightmares."
He let out a sigh and leaned back in the chair. "It took a bit of digging but there's something out there that's doing out there. And by thing I mean some sort of creature. My sensors caught sight of something in my warehouse when I was running my test. Just a fucking sliver of something. But it was gone as soon as I woke up and I have no imagery of anything. Maybe some kind of psychic parasite?"
He sighed. "Probably some kind of thing with magic in it. That kind of shit always fucks up everything. If I didn't have the psychic resonance equipment I would have missed it."

"So there's something on the island doing this on purpose," she guessed. "It's not just a weather event."
Re: Talk to Jesse
Barry smirked. "Not just the weather."
He flipped a few pages in his report and pointed to what appeared to be a chart graphing a REM cycle.
"I was rigged up to enter a specific REM cycle at a certain time. I was supposed to enter my REM cycle here," he said pointing at one particular part of the chart and then he pointed at another part earlier in the graph where his REM cycle had spiked. "Whatever that thing was it pushed up my REM cycle way before I was supposed to get into one."
He flipped another couple of pages to show the tracking from his resonance equipment. "Which is right after whatever it was showed up in my warehouse. As soon as I woke up and the lights were on? It was gone."

You have no idea how much that pained him to say.

She waved at the whiteboard.

I hope Emily won't be mad. Ah, who am I kidding? If she met this guy, I probably wouldn't see her for days.
I miss her. Is that a weird thing to think about someone you only knew for a day?

He jabbed his thumb back in the direction of the warehouse district.
"I'm going home, taking a shower and probably not sleeping until I figure out else might going on. Have a good day, Ms. Mayor. I'll let you know if I fucking come up with something."

3. Not weather related
4. Light may work against them? Maybe. Who knows?
