Trooper Station, Friday

The Troopers today were snacking on something called Doritos, which Ralph explained they'd acquired yesterday. Apparently it had been- some sort of holiday or festival where eating these was considered part of the festivities?

Well. In any case, there were Troopers with cheese dust on their gloves and helmets today. No, Watts didn't know why or how it was on their helmets when obviously they needed to remove them to eat.

He was just going to be in his office, sitting on his desk and working on his Chinese writing exercises while very much not spoiling his appetite for lunch with either the chips or the pretzel that was currently in his jacket pocket.

"Like what?" Steven asked. Having never been in charge of anything he actually had no idea what might go with it.

"Well," Watts drawled. "For starters, I've got this private office- with a door that not only closes but locks. Secondly, the Troopers aren't actually meant to hang about the station all day. They really ought to be out on patrol."

Steven looked worried. "Don't make them do anything they're not meant to on my account, surely?"

Because the Troopers were clearly meant to be spending the day eating Doritos, right?

Watts smiled, reaching out to cup Steven's cheek briefly. "You're very thoughtful," he said fondly. "I promise, I'd not make them do anything beyond the scope of their regular duties. But their regular duties can take them out of the station for- some time," he said, smile turning into more of a smirk.

Steven leaned into the touch. "All right. Long as they're not being made to do inventory when they tried their best to be on time or anything."

Not that Steven had bad memories about that sort of thing.

"I would never," Watts promised him.

"You're too good a man for that," Steven agreed. He started to lean forward to kiss Llewellyn, then hesitated. "Sorry. Is it all right if I - ?"

"Please."

Steven gave Llewellyn a very warm look for the way he said that, then closed the distance between them for a kiss.

After which, of course, Watts stood up and poked his head outside the office, just long enough to let the Troopers know they were expected to go on patrol effective immediately.

When he sat back down, it may have been straddling Steven's lap instead of in his own chair.

What? All the better for kissing. Which is definitely all they got up to.
