"Thanks for always being on time," Mark says. "Though I don't know how much work you'll have. Business has been a lot slower than I expected -- do you have any ideas of ways to bring more kids in?"

He scratches his chin a moment. "More advertising? Maybe we could put up fliers around the school."

Giving up on her quest for a grocery store, Alanna wanders into the theater and blinks at the title of the film being shown. Having nothing better to do, she buys a ticket for the one o'clock showing.

Alanna spotted someone she vaguely recognized and walked over to where Faith was sitting. "Seat taken?"

Faith smiled up at Alanna, remembering her from the slumber party. "Not yet. It's Alanna, right?"

Alanna nodded and sat down. "Yup, and you're Faith?"

Matrk nods. "Yeah, that might work. But your school is pretty strict about letting non-students on campus. Want to help me spread the word?"

Faith nodded. "You see this one yet?" she said, gesturing towards the screen. "The main guy is kinda cute, but I have no idea what the plot is."

Alanna shrugged. "No, um, this is actually my first um, big TV? It looked interesting and I had nothing better to do, so I wandered in. And yeah, he's cute."

Faith raised her eyebrows. "I'm guessing you're not from around here, then. It's called a movie, because....I don't know, but that's what it's called."

Alanna snorted. "Yeah, um, that's one way to put. Movie, huh? Well, I'll keep that in mind. Does it mean that it's showing only in this big room, or can movies be on TV as well?"

"They can be on a tv. They usually come out like this first, and in a few months you'd be able to get a copy of it to play on a TV." Faith shrugged, realizing that she's probably not the best person to explain this. "I don't know, I'm not super knowledgeable about stuff like this."

Alanna shook her head. "Thanks for the info, it's good enough. I don't think I want anything more in depth." She coughs lightly. "Um, do you by any chance know how to fence? Or fighting, any kind? I'm still looking for a sparring partner who won't go crazy and try to stab me with her knife in the middle of the fight."

((Irony coughs politely in the distance.))

"Fighting?" Faith smiled. "Yeah, I know how to fence, sorta- I kinda lack discipline, so it's more of a hacking than a refined style. But I'm pretty good at fighting in general. And I don't think I'd go crazy, unless it was an actual, you know, fight to the death sort of thing."
