Spike's Pub

Red locked up and turned the lights out. All was in readiness to open shop on Monday. By the afternoon, his new employee would show and he would be able to institute something he thought the school population would like. It would take a few days, perhaps a week to put into place but it was brilliant if he thought so.

Out in the town, Red trotted along the sidewalk, his footpads silently moving along the concrete until he found himself sitting outside Spike's Pub.

Nothing to lose except getting thrown out, Red pushed in and went to the bar, ordering a Grenadine and Coke with an extra cherry.

Red liked cherries.

Pulling the money from his leg cuff, he sat at the bar - tail flicking about and enjoying his drink through a bendy straw, watching the other patrons in silence, occasionally singing softly with the drunken revelry.

geoff_chaucer walk in, arm in arm, and sit down at a table. Geoff looks toward the stage to see if anything's going on tonight.*

I guess it's pretty quite with it being a sunday. I'll go get the drinks. You should probably stay away from Spike, I think he's a bit jealous of your poetry.

*Paige gets up* I'll suprise you shall I?

As you always do, my lady.

*Paige giggles and goes to the bar*

*A minute later she returns with 2 small glasses of golden liquid (ooc mead), she places one in front of Geoff and keeps hold of the other*

*Paige smiles and sits opposite*I had a feeling this might be your sort of drink

[occ: ooh, mead!]

*sips the mead and smiles* Perfect! Although I think I acquired something of a taste for "espresso" the other day.

*eyes the stage again, and then glances around the room, noting that what looks like a large red...animal?...is...sitting?...at another table*

It seems a bit quiet tonight...everyone at services, I suppose.

*looks at the animal-thing-person again*

Paige, what is that?

With the feeling he was being watched, Red looked around the small pub and saw the two young people in the corner. He gave them a toothy grin and a tail flick.

I thought coffee mightn't be such a good idea at this time in the evening.

*Paige looks at the cat* I have no idea, I've been with you all weekend remember? I guess he's new.

*Paige slids over to Geoff and whispers in his ear* It's probably best to question the things you see here Geoff, otherwise you're pretty likely to go insane.

*raises an eyebrow at Paige's suggestion*

You're probably right. I suppose I ought to get out a little more, see a bit more of town. There are...quite a number of "unusual" people here, aren't there?

*whispers back in Paige's ear* And yes, I do remember that you've been with me all weekend.

When they were no longer looking at him, Red adjusted his bendy straw with a paw and concentrated on his drink again.

*Geoff's eyes widen a bit at the grin, but he nods a greeting*

*Paige kisses him softly on the neck* I should hope so.

*She takes a sip of mead and moves closer to Geoff, laying her head on his shoulder*

Realizing that not everyone found his smile charming, in fact it had been described at one time as 'horribly frightening', Red cranked back on the enthusiasm.

If Red wasn't mistaken, the young woman was possibly too young to be in the pub. However, this new town was quite different from those he was accustomed to.

*Geoff places his arm around Paige and drinks his ale, enjoying the company, and glad that there don't seem to be many people around tonight*

As you seem to know a great deal more about me than I do about you, would you like to tell me a bit about yourself?

*Paige shifts slightly, then moves back* There's not much to tell really. My adopted parents died a few months ago I was in the car with them when it happened, I'm luckly to be alive really.

*A tear roles down Paige's cheek and she squeezes Goeff's hand slightly*

Anyway I kinda,erm didn't deal with it very well. I think that's why I'm here, my old school back in San Francisco kicked me out.

*Geoff feels very bad about upsetting Paige, and mentally kicks himself for once again mentioning something upsetting. He sets down his drink and pulls Paige into his arms.*

I'm so sorry. I...wish there was something I could say that would make it easier for you. If you don't want to talk about it, or yourself, I'll understand.

I am glad you ended up here, though. For that matter, I'm glad I ended up here, however it is that it happened.

*Paige smiles wiping the tear away* It's ok Geoff and you are making it better.

*She kisses him gently* I'm glad we ended up here too. You're not like the other men I've met Geoff, I guess guys in the 21st Century just don't know how to treat a woman well.

*kisses her back* I'm sure some of them do, you just haven't yet met any. You never know, in a few days you may find someone new here who makes you think that my manners belong in a pigsty.

*gives a little smile* Or, you may find out that I'm no kind of gentleman, but really just a rogue who's very good with people.

Seeing the two so tight and intimate in the corner, Red pulled out a few bills and set them on the bar, telling the bartender to refresh their drinks when they get low.

He wouldn't disturb them any further and leaping down from the stool with a soft chinkle of his jewelry, Red gave the young couple one last grin and trotted out into the night air.

*Paige grins* I doubt that very much Geoff and you being a rogue wouldn't be a problem. I quite like a little roguishness in a man

*Geoff is surprised when he learns that the round of drinks came from the cat-thing-person and determines to return the favor at the next opportunity. He also determines to do his come up with a better term than cat-thing-person.*

[ooc: gosh, how sweet of you! :)]

*Paige smiled at the cat and gestured goodbye*

*laughs and hugs Paige* So I've noticed. How is it that

pure_blooddraco hasn't seen fit to court you?

*Paige takes a deep breath* I guess he has, probably not how you mean exactly, but yeah I guess we're *Paige takes a large sip of mead and another deep breath* sort of going out, in theory.

*Paige looks into Geoff's eyes.* It was before you came, he was, well a lot like you actually, charming. I should probably break up with now shouldn't I? I mean if, if you'd like to court me?

*looks rather pleased that Paige wants him to court her*

I would never ask you to stop seeing him simply because you're seeing me. I imagine he would be in within his rights to ask you to stop seeing me, if he felt that you had agreed to be exclusive in your relationship.

*pauses while considering the ramifications of a rival* I also supposed he would have every right to call me out.

*Paige smiles weakly* if he told me to stop seeing you I wouldn't do it, end of.

*Paige thinks a moment* "Call you out" you mean like want to fight you? He doesn't really seem the violent type, so I'm sure that wouldn't be such an issue

*is very pleased with Paige's response*

Yes, if you he sees me as a rival for your affections then he has the right to challenge me to a duel. I'm not the violent type myself -- in fact I much prefer to avoid violence whenever possible -- so I do hope you're right about him.

[ooc: Major *snerking* over the idea that Draco isn't violent and wouldn't want to fight. Poor Paige.]

I'm pretty sure I am *whisper's into Geoff's ear giggling* Don't worry I'll protect you if I need to.

(ooc indeed I've had to ignore so much and just play on what I actually know from talking to Draco)

*kisses Paige for her offer to protect him*

I thank you sincerely, my lady. Perhaps I should give you a token to wear on your sleeve?

*finishes his second drink*

As it seems that there's to be no entertainment here tonight, could I interest you in a walk?

*Paige kisses Geoff back, but as she's slightly drunk now she's rather more passionate than she intended*

*She smiles* A walk would be lovely Geoff

*Geoff realizes that he's able to hold his alcohol better than Paige, and decides that a little night air would probably be very good for her. He offers his hand and helps her to her feet, then puts his arm around her shoulders and leads her out of the pub.*

(ooc -not that I've seen so yes new thread. Will have go soonish though, I'll not tell you what time it is here, it'll scare you!)

[ooc: I think I can imagine how late it is there -- would you prefer to just leave it for another day?]
