In the park, after midnight

It's late, but Tara can't sleep. She lies in the park, looking up at the stars, murmuring quietly to herself and trusting that the Holy Water she always drinks at sunset will keep her safe from the local vampires, should they be hungry.

[CJ staggers through the park. She sees a figure on the bench. Hoping it's Mr. Phale she walks closer...but it's a woman. It's Tara.]

Tara props herself up on her elbows, smiling over at CJ. "Hey, CJ! What are you doing out so late?"

Tara? Do you know where I live? I can't find my house. It's here someplace...

"Um..." Tara bites her lip, sitting up to look more closely at CJ. "Do you live at the dorms? Or with the Doctor - you said the two of you were together? Tell me what your house looks like, and we'll find it together."

It's a blue phone booth. I have the key...[she looks down and realizes she doesn't have her purse]...oh hell. I don't even have my key. I can't get in. And he left.

"You live... in a phone booth? Um, CJ, are you okay? Who left?"

Ten...I told him. I told him we needed to slow down. Back off. that he needs to let me be strong and stop saving me all the time. He left. I left. It was a whole bunch of left.

It only looks like a phone booth, Tara. It's a dimension something or other. Like a space ship. But it looks like a phone booth.

"A phone booth space ship." Tara nods. Okay, there's no reason why that shouldn't be true, around her. "Okay, so I know what we're looking for..."

She gets up, brushing the grass off of her skirt automatically. "Did he say where he was going? Or, um, take the phone booth? I mean, ship?"

Oh god...what if he did? What if I can't find him because he went sometime else to get away from me? Oh god...Tara...what have I done?

After the JA meeting and her chat with Bel, Beka decides to go for a walk. She sees Tara (and maybe CJ) and waves.

"CJ, calm down. Even if he did, it'd just be to cool down for a while. He'd come back - he's in love with you, remember?"

After tonight, I wouldn't blame him. But yes...he says he still is.

"So you leave and get drunk," which is obvious from the smell on CJ's breath, if nothing else, "and he leaves and does... whatever he needs to do to calm down. And tomorrow, or the next day, you talk." Tara stretches out her hand to CJ, offering a hug if she wants one.

Beka sees that Tara's waving her over, and notes CJ in a state of distress. "Hey hey. How's everything?"

"CJ? You look...rough. Almost as bad as after the zombie fight. What's up?" Beka sounds concerned.

"Hey Beka," Tara says, unsure of how much CK wanted known. "One of those nights, you know?"

"Yeah. Been one of those weeks." She kicks at a rock on the ground. "Might stay that way, since a certain teacher paired me to debate with my ex and my not!boyfriend." There's no heat in her tone.

Tara blinks, and raises her hands a little defensively. "Okay, new teacher. I've been here a week. I *swear* I didn't know any of that."

"Oh dear..." She considers a moment. "Oh...dear. Are you... is he... you still love each other. I know that. So...?"

Beka smiles. "It's OK. Really. Cam and I get on OK. Most of the time. I was teasing. Though...it'll be interesting. Since, Phoebe's one of my best friends, Parker and I loathe each other and Angelus and I... well... yeah."
