Duck Pond [Wednesday Evening]

Bread crumbs are strewn about in front of a young blue Twi'lek woman who is sitting crosslegged near the pond. A few ducks have gathered to nibble on the small gift brought to them, quietly quacking amongst themselves. They go unnoticed by their benefactor, as does the half-empty cup of chai tea sitting next to her.
Eyes closed in meditation, Aayla thinks about The Force, balance, this town, and natural order.

Anakin needed to clear his head. There were too many people on campus--too much pent-up anger from the Ethics project.

He fled to the quiet of the park.

Ivanova affixes her official C.R.A.C.K. badge firmly on her chest and heads towards the duck with a bread bag of heels. She stalls when she sees the other girl sitting there, but decides to go ahead with her mission. She inspects the grass for droppings before plopping down to begin distributing her offerings.

Tonks wandered along the edge of the small pond, shredding bits of bread in her hand and tossing it idly to the ducks. A rather stubborn one was following her, occasionally slamming into her legs. She rolled her eyes plaintively, before tossing a slightly stale crust at it. It didn't move, merely looked at her disdainfully. She shrugged and turned away, preferring to focus on the string of ducklings.

Aayla's head rises and her eyes open as she feels a distinct presence. One definitely in tune with The Force.
She turns behind her and sees the first familiar face in a very long time.
"Anakin?"

Anakin turned around.

"Aayla?"

He took a couple of steps towards her. "Is that really you?"

Aziraphale leaves the shop for a quiet evening stroll. He smiles at the sight of so many young people enjoying the pleasant atmosphere of the park. Noticing Aayla near the duck pond, he walks slowly in her direction. Quietly, so as not to disturb her, he takes a seat on the bench nearby and waits.

Smiling at her old aquaintance, Aayla walks up to him before giving him a gentle hug. "What other Twi'lek do you suppose would be here?"

Ivanova grins at the efforts of the new arrival and tries to entice the stubborn duck with a slightly fresher crust. It shot her a look of utter loathing and waddled to the pond. She shrugs. "Guess it's watching its carbs."

Anakin gave her a rare smile. "That's a good point." He sat down on a bench. "So what brings you here?"

He looked a little concerned. "The Council's not trying to check up on me or anything, right?"

"A little conceited to think that you're The Council's only worry, isn't it?" she laughs, sitting up on the bench with him. "No, they're only interested about this planet and the culture. Your being here is personal, mine is slightly more of a mission, you could say."

Aayla notices Aziraphale's soothing presence and smiles. She turns to acknowledge him, bowing politely. "Good evening, Mr. Phale. How are you tonight?" Picking up her cup of now lukewarm chai tea, she moves to sit at the bench with him.

Tonks grinned, "Probably." She took a step forward, and stumbled over a rock, landing near the pond. Her right leg was in the water, soaked to her shin. "Cold!" She groaned, pulling her foot out. She pulled off her wet shoe, setting it beside her as she tried to twist the excess water out of her pantleg.

"Just being cautious," Anakin replied. "Can never tell when Master Yoda's going to take it into his head to test me." He scuffed his boots on the grass. "And they weren't exactly thrilled with the idea with a Padawan off by himself."

His eyebrows went up at the word "mission." "They've got a plan for this planet? Obi-Wan had to dig through tons of research to even find it. He was driving the Archives to distraction."

"Perhaps his investigation brought up something of interest. Once found, The Council can find use of anything, you well know that. They didn't tell me what their plans were, and it was not my place to ask, so I don't know any more than you do." She shrugs empathetically.

Sparing a glance at the young woman's cup of tea, which is now the perfect temperature for chai, Aziraphale smiles. "Good evening, my dear. I'm quite well. And yourself?"

Ivanova winces and drops the bread bag, leaning forward. "Are you alright there? Didn't hurt yourself, did you?"

"So you're here for an indeterminate amount of time, then?" Anakin smiled. "It'll be nice to see another familiar face. Are you working from a Council account or did you have to get a job in town?"

"Quite all right!" Tonks answered, smiling up at Ivanova. "Wet jeans suck though," She groused, pulling out her wand and tapping the leg of her jeans, and mumbling an incantation. "I'm dead clumsy," she admitted, getting to her feet as soon as the fabric was dry, "You should've seen me at the beach party last night. I fell flat on my face and got completely covered with sand. It got everywhere, and I've realized that my long-standing hatred of sand is indeed, quite justified."

She blushed suddenly, "Oh, sorry, I tend to ramble. I'm Tonks, by the way."

"A mixture of both, actually. The Council has supplied me with enough monetarily, but to truly explore this culture, I have accepted a position at the new hotel in security."
Sitting back, she smiles curiously. "And what is it Master Kenobi has you doing here?"

Ivanova grins at the high-speed chatter. "Ivanova. Well, Susan Ivanova, but I generally prefer Ivanova." She pats the grass beside her [[I'm sitting down]] "You were at the beach party? I must have missed you. I was swapping stories with the Doctor by the fire. So sand in the marshmallows but not all over."
