Spike's Pub is Open

Loz opened the doors and turned on the sign to indicate Spike's was open. Yazoo turned the chairs and stools right and straightened the table while Kadaj prepped the bar.

They didn't know whether to expect a big crowd or not. Something was going on at the campus though. So the brothers just prepared the Pub for a Friday night.

Well, if nothing else they were going to get a certain young doctor heading through the doors.

A shower had done little to revive him after the day at the Clinic but he'd taken a moment to change to more comfortable 'street clothes' if you will before wandering down to see if the Pub was open tonight.

With a tired sigh and a weary looking expression he slid up onto a barstool and waited until someone had a moment to wander over.

Tex enters the bar, she moves over to the bar and takes a seat not too far away from the doctor.

Wilson was always good for a friendly smile when someone sat near him at bars.

It was hard to tell if Tex smiled back or not with the visor. She just nodded at Wilson in greeting and reached up to undo her helmet. It unseals with a hiss and she puts it aside on the seat next to her.

Tex smiled at Yazoo and picked up her whiskey, taking a long drink.

"Hi." Wilson smiled warmly, his arms crossed on the bar as he asked. "Spike has a bottle of single malt back there, he said he put my name on. If it really is there, I'd love three fingers, neat...if it isn't then...three fingers, neat single malt please."

A flick of his fingers and the fifty he tended to present when in here appeared tucked between index and middle finger for Yazoo to grab.

Geoff strides into the pub, looking downright jaunty. He grins and raises a hand to whichever brother happens to be at the bar, then takes a seat at a table off to the side of the room, setting out an inkpot, quill, and several sheets of paper.

He looks like he's in a damn good mood.

Yeah...that would probably help, wouldn't it?

Wilson groaned softly and rubbed his hand over his face, obviously annoyed at himself. More tired then he realized.

"My apologies. James Wilson."

The hand came down and the ready grin was once again apparent.

"Please." He requested softly dark eyes sliding down to the amber liquid now circling lazilly in his glass.

Lifting the tumbler to his lips, Wilson put down a good third of the glass in one swallow and then decided he was going to sit and try not to think about the lure of a tree that might help a person forget.

Geoff looks up and smiles. "Evening..." He narrows his eyes for a second, thinking. "...Kadaj. Thanks."

As the young man walks away, Geoff calls out to him. "Oh! Um, Kadaj! Can you answer a question for me?"

He points with the quill toward the jukebox. "Two questions, actually. What is that? And what is that God-awful noise coming out of it?" His grin suggests that he probably doesn't object to the music as much as his question would indicate.

Tex kept one eye on the man beside her as she drank her own glass at a slower pace.

"Got someone to carry you home?" She asked, a smirk curving her lips only slightly.

Ben walks into the pub, deciding he could use a beer after spending all day tearing apart editing what he had of his novel's manuscript. He stops at the door and swears softly under his breath, recognizing the men tending bar as the ones who had come into the Emporium the other day. This was not particularly what he wanted to deal with, but he wanted the drink badly enough. Maybe they wouldn't recognize him.

((ooc: Ben is open to other patrons striking up a conversation with him))

Geoff nods, grinning. "So, you're telling me someone paid to listen to this. Ah well, I can't imagine they'd have any music inside it that I'd recognize anyway."

"Beer, please." Ben sized up the other man, but avoided his eyes. This guy was good looking; he couldn't fault Michael on that.
