Aziraphale's Rare Books, Tuesday Morning

Kiki is there, kneeling on the floor, sorting a stack of volumes by subject and alphabetizing them. She's mumbling under her breath to keep her place as she sets each one aside.

"Llamas... Legends of Kaleria...that would be mysticism and medieval lore... Alchemical Transfigurations Primer 1... The Glee of Cooking, with Blark and Snark... Lewd and Lacivious Limericks and Ladies who Love Them - oh my!"

Kiki blushes and quickly buries that one in another pile.

[He wakes late, and comes downstairs, bare from the waist up, carrying a black silk shirt. His black scales shimmer across his shoulders and down his spine to the waistband of his trousers, but his wings aren't visible. Ignoring Kiki altogether, he walks in the kitchen, picks a bottle of scotch from the cupboard, and drinks the whole thing. He walks to the reading lounge and lays on the couch, staring at the ceiling. He holds his glasses in the other hand.]

Kiki decides not to harrass Mr. Crowley while she's supposed to be working. Business before pleasure and all.

With a rush, Chihaya races to Mr. Phale's bookstore. He almost didn't catch the door before it bangs open and it does shut with a little more force than necessary, but only out of exhuberence.

He is drawn up short to look at Kiki with a grin. "Kiki!" he chirped cheerfully. "Hey!"

Harry spots her through the window and walks in to say hi. "Everytime i see you here you're working...Aziraphale could almost hire you, i guess" He says with a grin

Kiki looks up happily. "Chihaya!" she greets him eagerly, "I haven't seen you in ages! How have you been?"

"Harry!" Kiki grins. "How are you - and guess what? Mr. Aziraphale actually did hire me." Kiki laughs. "I've got a key to the shop and everything."

"Oh really? That's cool" Harry says, and smiles. "I guess now i have a reason to hang out here more often" He looks around him to see if anyone can overhear them, lowers his voice and asks "did you meet the Crawler-whatshisname-person, allready?"

Kiki grins and blushes a little, and she rushes on to answer his question. "Yes, yes I did," she answers, her eyes involuntarily flicking down the rows of books to the couch in the back of the shop where Mr. Crowley is sprawled half-naked with a whole bottle of scotch in him. Her voice drops. "Mr. Crowley is a good friend of Mr. Aziraphale's and - well, he's my friend, too. I think." She pauses a moment then closes her mouth and shakes her head slightly with a small smile.

Harry sees her looking to the lounge area, and looks too. He doesn't see Crowley, though. "So, is he nice? I heard he's feeding on ducks? Or is that just a rumour? It sounds kinda gross" Harry says, and frowns.

He breathes out rather exasperatedly. "Busy but not getting anything done?" Chihaya giggles and grins at her. "How about you? You work here now?"

[He tosses and turns as he sleeps, sweating and moaning. He snaps awake and sits up, his gaze falling on her behind the counter. Sharply, he calls her.]

Kiki! Bring me some paper and a pen. Now.

[ooc: Hahaha, well, seeing as how he has a shirt in his hand but hasn't put it on... I'm guessing he's still in the semi-buff *squee*]

"Oh, no," Kiki giggles, "He doesn't feed on ducks, he just feeds them. Usually the leftover biscuits or scones. He likes to go to the pond to think and talk with people passing by. He is..." Kiki pauses, hesitating. Her forgiving good-nature notwithstanding, "nice" isn't exactly the first word she would choose in describing Crowley. "...interesting," Kiki finishes.

Kiki jumps, startled, but snatches up a pad of paper and an old-fashioned pen - just the sort of think Mr. Aziraphale would have about the shop - and quickly brings it to him.

After a moment's hesitation, Kiki askes, "Do you need anything else?"

"Yeah, I do! Mr. Aziraphale gave me a job - probably because I'm underfoot here so often, I might as well be useful! What are you up to these days?"

"Trying to stay caught up in classes...oh and writing for the newspaper now!" He drops his backpack and rummages around in it to look for his list. "Did you see my interview with the mayor?"

[He looks at her, his glasses abandoned on the floor. His eyes are crystaline blue]

An envelope.

[He looks down and begins to write.]

"Right. Yes, sir," Kiki answers, and she hurries back to the counter and comes back a few seconds later with a white envelope.

She holds it out to him, and then stoops and picks up his glasses, and holds those out to him as well.

"I did, it was fantastic!" Kiki grins. "It really was very well-written, and those were some good questions. Good for you! Was it a volunteer job, or were you specifically selected to interview him?"

"Oh good. Feeding the ducks is okay" Harry says, who had mental images about crowley devouring uncooked ducks, with all the feathers still on. "Is Aziraphale not in? Did you see any interesting books while sorting through them?"

The bat is made of wood and it's heavy but the weight is reassuring in her hand, along her arm, against the side of her leg as she walks. Kate had handed it over to her without a single question and, for that, she was impossibly grateful - because she knew that Shane wouldn't ask unless she felt she needed it.

And she did. Need it. For her own sanity's sake.

For Tara...

She pulls the door open and steps inside. She's dressed in black cargo pants, a white wifebeater and her steel-toed boots. She'd thrown her gray hoodie on over that in some feeble, half-minded effort to keep out the morning chill, but never even bothered to zip it, the fingerless gloves on her hands giving her a better grip on the grooved and dented wood.

[He snatches the glasses from her and puts them on. Having written the note, he folds it carefully and put is in the envelope. Once it's sealed, he hands it to Kiki.]

Give that to my angel when he gets back. Preferably aftter I'm gone.

[He picks up his shirt and walks upstairs.]

"I haven't seen Mr. Aziraphale yet today," Kiki begins. "He probably-"

Kiki is interrupted by a sudden shout from the back of the shop: Mr Crowley, yelling for Kiki to bring him paper and a pen right away. Startled, Kiki flashes a smile at Harry and says, "I'll be back in just a minute - don't go anywhere!" She grabs a pen and pad from beneath the counter and goes to the back of the shop.

She's back again in a moment. "Envelopes," she murmurs, looking through the counter's shelves. "Envelopes - ah, here's one!" She smiles again at Harry. "Back again in just another minute - sorry!"

"Mr. Crowley," Shane says, raising her voice so that he's sure to hear her. Her tone is perfectly even and calm. "I have to talk to you."
