Mayor's Office Hours

Red was almost foaming at the mouth. Not quite, since foaming was rather undignified and Red did have his dignity. After reading the school newspaper, he just wanted to put his head through the coffee machine. Not his, Lamb's.

What a PR nightmare.

Calming somewhat when Gladys brought him peppermint tea, he set about doing his mayor duties for the day since he was already there.

Tex knocked on the door, she was supposed to have done this sooner but real life something had come up to keep her busy.

Tex entered, in one hand she was carrying an envelope, in the other she held the gunblade Yazoo made for her.

"Morning, mayor." She said, sounding particularly cheerful.

Tex eyed the chair too, it was a wonder really that she hadn't fallen through one just yet. So she remained standing.

"More what I can do for you, Red." She said as she placed the envelope down before him. "That's the quota you asked for. I'm sorry I didn't get it to you sooner. I went with the CO2 tranquilizers and the disposable darts."

"I should be able to get them to you in two days," Tex reassured him. She paused, tilting her head. "So I've noticed..."

"Your sheriff sounds eager enough to finish the job," Tex remarked.

"A gunblade," Tex said as she held it up for Red to see. "My latest acquisition," she sounded pleased.

She would drop the 'almost' part herself. "Yes, in my range yesterday. Sadly enough, I don't have the advanced equipment yet for a more practised trial. Which is why I'll be gone for most of the day."

"Yes," Tex agreed. "Although, I wouldn't trade a shop for an office and paperwork."

"Good idea," Tex nodded. "I'll try not to let the secret get out. I don't suppose there's a budget for an aide?"

"Sounds like an idea. It's just a matter of finding the right sucker," Tex grinned.

"You're asking me?" Tex was amused, there weren't too many people in this town who talked to her, let alone people who liked paperwork. "I wouldn't have a clue."

"Hey, I could handle it for you. I'm just not sure a pile of ashes are easy to archive." Tex said with a shrug.

Tex chuckled. "You know how to find me if you change your mind."

"I know I will," she said and moved to the door. "Seriously, a nice fire and your day will get heaps better." She said before leaving Red to his papers.
