Presenting it across his forearm like a waiter presenting a wine list, he offers a completely cheesy grin.
[ooc: soooo much hate for lag right now!]

"So...you've had a veek in town so far. Discover anything new or exciting?"

She turns to Sonia raising an eyebrow and mouths "cute" to her

Walking into the gallery, he glances around and tries to find something to start with. "Which end would you prefer to start at? Tapestries or statuary?"

She's sure her face is still flushed red from Paige's comment, (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/372826.html?thread=15004250#t15004250) and she attempt to hide the fact by leaning over to study one of the more intricate bits of weaving.
"I suppose...that's a good thing, actually. Something vas going on this past veek- it seems to have....erm, finished, but on the whole? Everything vas...off."
She pulls back from her observation and glances up to him. "So you are settling in, then?"

In her head, she is facepalming.

He does shoot an amused look Sonia's way. "Ah. Drat. And here I was hoping my good looks, good manners and charm had impressed you, but all along it was my knowledge of paint." His eyes nearly glow with amusement, but his voice stays somber, "Shall just have to try harder then. Or impress you more with my knowledge of the Renaissance masters."
"Nice to meet you, Paige." His tone is a polite dismissal. Clearly he wants to continue his trip through the museum with Sonia. He begins leading her off down the hall.

She waves a small goodbye to Paige as she follows Aaron into the hall.

He answers, a little distracted, "Yeah, I think I'm settling in ok. This place still takes a little getting used to, but so far, haven't met up with anything I can't handle."
no subject
"I'm sorry- you mentioned you had been avoiding tense conversation, so vhat's the first thing I bring up? But...I'm glad to see you're okay. And unaffected by all of this."
no subject
Aaron watches her for a moment, concerned that she's obviously bothered by something, but not wanting to pry. "Glad to hear you weathered it, then. I manage to miss all the fun."
no subject
"And now, I'm sure ve can find much more pleasant topics of conversation."
no subject
He then changes the topic, pointing out a picture (http://www.mikal.org/photo_journal/burbank_200101/renaissance_art.jpg). "So.. can you tell if those are musical notes or words? I can't quite make them out.."
no subject
She looks to the painting he's indicated, leaning a little closer and occasionally tilting her head at a different angle to get a better view. "It almost looks like polyphonic notation. (http://www.ibiblio.org/expo/vatican.exhibit/exhibit/e-music/images/music06.jpg) Vhat do you think?"

"I do like the detail on the tablecloth, though. Nice animal motif."

"Yes- it's been beautifully rendered." As she steps back to get a fuller view of the painting, something nearby catches her eye, and her mouth parts in surprise. "Is that... vun of the unicorn tapestries? (http://www.uic.edu/depts/ahaa/classes/ah111/tapestry1.jpg)"

Stepping to the side, he checks the fray on the threads, trying to get a view of the backing. He murmurs quietly, "I somehow don't think this is a repro, either. Wonder how a museum this little got one of these.."
no subject
Glancing around the tapestry, she looks for a placard but finds nothing. "Is there anything in the guidebook?"

Frowning slightly, Aaron flipped through the glossy pages of the pamphlet and eventually shook his head, "No, it's just listed as an exhibit. Nothing about it at all. That's strange.. you'd think they'd want to publicize how a museum in such a small town acquired something so famous.."
no subject
"I'd say...very early 16th century, possibly Flemish. Vhat do you think?"
