Special Appointment at Red's - Shop is closed (NFB)

For Tara and Shane only. All conversation and activity will take place in the back of the shop with the door closed.

As he had arranged with Tara, Red opened his shop for her and Shane as a special appointment. They would be working on Shane's tattoos and with the special conditions that surrounded it, Red didn't want his shop to be open to the public.

The back room was prepared and his equipment was set up, waiting for the ladies to show up. Castor and Pollux, very excited that something was going on in the shop during the weekend, played in the middle of the floor.

Tara knocks at Red's door, nerves fluttering a bit. She's not quite sure what's going to be needed of her - but she'd do anything to keep Shane safe, and Shane says this will help. That's all she needs to know.

Shane reaches over and gently smooths her hand over Tara's hair before stuffing her hands into her pockets. She takes a quick look at the street on either side of them, doing her utmost to keep from fidgeting.

"Fine," Shane says with a small smile, though it's obvious that's not the case at all. Though, physically, she looks well enough (if a bit worn at the edges), her eyes are dull -- sapped of their usual fierce sparkle -- and very, very tired.

"In need of a holiday," Tara replies quietly, obviously worried about Shane. "We're taking off tomorrow for a few days, and I'm going to pamper Shane until she's sick of it."

"It could wait," Shane murmurs, her apologetic. "But... I -- I think it might be ... better to do it now."

"Okay," she said, taking a seat in the chair, hands clasped between her knees. "I was, um... thinking maybe between my shoulder blades. Down low, so... so nobody knows it's there." After a moment, she casts a curious look up at Tara. "W-would ... would that be a good spot for it? I don't -- I'm not sure."

Tara nods, smiling gently. "That sounds wonderful, love." She looks up at Red. "What do you need me to do?"

[ooc: I'm not getting email notification for replies, dammit. Sorry for my delay.]

"Okay, give me a second," Tara murmurs. "Shane? Can I see the bracelets?"

[identity profile] shane-mcc.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Nodding, Shane pulls the pair of bracelets from her pocket and hands them over to Tara. She'd gone as far as purchasing a safety deposit box for the things, but when the time came to put them in and lock them up, she'd hesitated. Banks could be broken into, even ones with harpies for guards.

She didn't have a harpy for a pet, but she'd felt safer keeping the bracelets with her.

Tara studies the bracelets, shifting her gaze past the physical plane to look at the magical signature of the bracelets. It's a very complicated spell, far more so than she can recreate without instructions... but perhaps she doesn't need to recreate it? The magic is there, is just needs to be transferred.

"Shane?" she says softly. "If... if the bracelets don't work anymore, will you be upset? I mean, if I transfer the spell to your skin?"

Biting her lip, Shane looks at the bracelets as they lay in Tara's hand. "Maybe it's... safer that way," she says finally. "Adam -- CJ's friend, he's the guy who read the inscriptions for me -- said that he was afraid that someone might try to take them from me... I guess, if they found out what they could do. I don't even know if they'd work for anybody else, but... I don't wanna risk it to find out, either."

[identity profile] brambless.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay," Tara nods to Shane. "I can do that. That's... that's actually easier than duplicating the spell." Thank goodness.

"Red? I'm ready when you are."

Standing up from the chair, Shane unbuttons her coat and slips it off -- revealing a soft, off-black long-sleeve t-shirt with the letters 'T - R - U - E' printed along one sleeve -- and drapes her coat over a nearby chair.

She knows that Red will need room to work and the cotton doesn't have much give to it, so she pulls it up and off over her head, leaving her bare chested, her existing tattoos on display. A black letter K on the inside of her left wrist, a sparrow on her left tricep, and the silhouette of a violin at the small of her back, just above the waistband of her low-riding jeans.

Tara eyes Shane, shirtless... naked from the waist up... she closes her eyes, reminding herself that the automatic surge of desire is not appropriate at this time, channelling the energy into the spell she's about to cast instead.

Nodding to Red, Shane grinned a little as she skirted around and took a seat straddling the chair, her back to Red. Now that her hair was short, she wouldn't have to worry about it getting in Red's way as he worked.

She draped her t-shirt over the back of the chair, folding both of her arms atop it and took a deep breath to help herself relax and get rid of any tension that might be lingering in her back and shoulders. The tattoo at the small of her back had hurt, but considering where this tattoo would be going, it would probably hurt even more... but she could handle it.

"Um, up...? A little more? Like, right between them... the most solid part of my back," Shane murmurs, brows furrowing a little as she tries to concentrate on where his paw is sitting.

"Yeah, right there," she said, resisting the urge to straighten up in her seat. "That's good."
