Aziraphale's Rare Books, Wednesday Morning

Bright Wednesday morning, Kiki unlocks the shop and flips the sign to open. With the upcoming holiday, she's not expecting many customers, but she's got some work to do.

First, she sets up the tea tray and puts out freshly-baked scones, then sets aside two (one blueberry, one cranberry-walnut) on a plate. She picks up the teacups, frowning at one that is cracked down the side. This one she sets on the counter, intending to mention it to Mr. Crowley, and pours some tea into a sound cup. She carries the plate and cup upstairs and taps on Mr. Aziraphale's door. She's not sure if he's here or not.

When she's done upstairs, Kiki returns to the shop and is very intently reading an old and worn spellbook.

Aziraphale calls for Kiki to enter when she knocks. Smiling at her, and at the tray she's carrying, he puts aside his book.

"You don't need to wait on me, my dear! I could quite easily come down for some tea and not bother you with it."

[ooc: Slow-playing until evening, if that's okay?]

[Rousing his head from his pillow, he looks up sleepily.]

Let her, angel. You need to rest.

The angel smiles fondly down at Crowley. "As you like, dear boy."

As I like? Aren't you agreeable today. What did you get up to last night in the park?

"I try to be, my dear." Aziraphale settles back into his pillow and thinks about his trip to the park the night before.

"Several people stopped to see me, in fact. Miss Serra, whom I'm sure you've seen around the shop, and Miss Cally. And Miss Tonks -- I don't know that you've met her, she works at the candy shop. Miss Parker stopped to see how I was feeling. I met someone new -- a Professor Quayle, he teaches gardening at the school. And James came by. We had a very pleasant talk."

He turns to look at the demon again. "Which reminds me, James and Greg are coming by the shop sometime for a proper tea and to make holiday decorations. We need to let them know when would be a good time. I was thinking perhaps weekend from next?"

Whatever you like, angel. I may be busy. Big plans in the works, you know. Wiling and tempting.

Aziraphale looks a little disappointed. "James did specifically invite you. I don't want to interfere with your plans, though, dear boy."

Deciding to change the subject, he says, "Kiki told me you were minding the shop a bit yesterday. Did you meet anyone interesting?"

Not really. Darla came in and had a nice cup of blood, and burned her hand on a book of yours. I don't get the impression she's pleased with the new soul in town. [He slides out of bed, and walks to the wardrobe to choose clothes. ]

"Dear boy, why would your friend Darla burn her hand on one of my books?" He thinks a moment about the rest of Crowley's statement and then makes a little noise of comprehension. "Another vampire, then? I do apologize. I thought I had all of the holy books locked away. I'll ask Kiki to see to it, if she's not too busy."

He watches the demon examine his clothing options. "Are you off to the hotel, then?"

How very kind of you, angel. I'd like her to come back, and I'm certain she'd be more comfortable if she wasn't being mocked by Him with accidental pain. [He slips into his suit, and turns while tying a flamboyant orange paisley tie.]

I do indeed have business at the hotel today. We're putting on a banquet for the townsfolk tomorrow, and I'm sure the help needs to be reminded of their place. Do come over if you have the time, angel. I'd love to show you other things in there, and if you get tired I'll find you in the library, I'm sure.

The angel gives Crowley a very pleased smile. "I'd like to do that, dear boy, if you really don't mind. Perhaps a bit later, once you have things settled, I might stop by."

He waves the demon toward him and reaches up to help with the tie.

[Tipping his chin up, he makes room for the angel's deft fingers]

And you, what will you do today? Until then, I mean. Do you expect it to be busy?

"I don't really know. I expect that Kiki will keep me locked up mostly, although perhaps if I'm very well behaved she'll let me out for a bit." He chuckles softly, working a neat knot in the demon's tie and then gently touching his cheek to let him know that it's finished.

[Smiling the soft smile that is Aziraphale's alone, he slips his glasses on.] I'd like you to come, see the preparations. I have lovely plans...I hope you like it.

Aziraphale returns the smile. "Then I'll be there, dear boy. I'm certain it'll be delightful."

He looks thoughtful for a moment. "Are you in a rush? There was something I'd meant to ask you."

For you, I have nothing but time. What would you like, angel?

"An...idea that James suggested. If you aren't too busy, of course. We were talking about the food that are traditional for Thanksgiving, and I'd never had some of them. So..."

He trails off for a moment, his voice hesitant, but he picks back up again. "I thought perhaps we could have our own dinner, here at the shop."

What a fantastic idea, angel. I'm sure the staff can handle the guests. And Sebastian will be there. I'd enjoy a quiet dinner with you.

Aziraphale's face lights up, and he smiles broadly at Crowley.

"Lovely, dear boy. I'll try and see what I can arrange, while you're out. Do you like pumpkin pie?"

I do, it's quite nice if it's spiced properly. I prefer mincemeat, with a good bit of beef in it, but pumpkin is traditional. Do you?

"Oh, mincemeat! We'll have both, then. I've never tried pumpkin, it's why I asked. James says we have to have turkey with cranberry sauce, stuffing of some type, sweet potatoes..." He ticks off the list of Wilson's Thanksgiving dinner requirements. "Rolls, a green bean casserole...and of course the pie. And wine." He looks at Crowley, his eyes merry. "Does that sound all right, dear boy?"

[He laughs, the rasping hiss quiet but distinct.] Of course, angel. Dinner and all the trimmings. Just for you.

"Not just for me, dear boy," he replies, smiling.

"Do you have a preference on the wine?"

That woman, CJ, left a bottle the other day. A cranberry wine. It looks pleasant. And a nice reisling might be good.

"Did she? How nice of her! It sounds perfect. And a reisling as well, of course."

Aziraphale takes up a small notepad from the bedside table and begins making a list.
