Smith is back. He does not care to sing at the current time.

Instead, he is enjoying another amazing shirley temple, which Tino delivered to him.

Muttering slightly to herself about ridiculous liquor laws, Callisto leaned against the bar and nodded to the man in sunglasses as she waited for Tino to give her her water.

Smith has read the ~~Matrix~~ files, and smirks. "Miss Callisto, I presume?"

"Yeah, that'd be me," Callisto thanked Tino for the water, before looking Smith up and down. "And you are?"

"My name is Smith. You can call me Principal or Mister Smith, depending on how formal you feel like addressing me." He takes a long sip of his shirley temple and licks his lips. "I believe I have already given you enough information as to figure out why I am here in this quaint little town."

Principal? Callisto didn't spittake, but it was a near thing. "So you're the new principal, then? Uh, you wouldn't happen to be into pageants at all Principal Smith?"

"Pageants?" Smith swirls his drink in his glass and tilts his head. "What sort are we reffering to? Miss America, Miss Universe, King of the Potato People, etcetera?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Mostly those bizarre religious ones the people here have." Callisto shrugged. "Y'know, Christmas, Easter, that sort of thing."

"Amateur theatrics." Smith mulls the thought for a moment, sifting a swig of shirley temple through his teeth. "I find them quite invigorating. An interesting form of disciplinary measures, for certain. I myself have not had the chance to dabble in directorial capacities. I look forward to my first opportunity to do so."

"Really?" Frak, frak, frakity frak. "Any particular ideas of when you might do one?" So I can get the frell outta Fandom.

"It depends on when the first widespread outbreak of student stupidity takes place, Miss Callisto." He smirks again and takes another sip of his drink.

"So what exactly would you class as a widespread outbreak, then?" Callisto hurriedly sipped her own drink, not thinking of squid hunts or nekkid pool activities. "Just so that I know to avoid them."

"Pool antics do not qualify, if that is your concern." Smith downs the rest of his drink and sets it on the bar. "Anything involving impaired judgement and very public places would, however. Merely act on the best of your behavior and you should avoid any theatrical conscriptment."

Callisto did spit-take this time, luckily not in Smith's direction. "Uh, did you know there's a crack in the pool roof that really needs fixing?"

"Thank you for drawing particular attention to that detail. I shall get our maintainence people on that immediately." Smith picks up the fresh shirley temple that Tino has set on the bar and then fishes out the cherry. He places it in his mouth, chews, swallows, and then retrieves a knotted cherry stem from his mouth.

"I was told this trick would endear me to students. Does it, Miss Callisto?"

"Uh...yeoaybe." Callisto may have looked vaguely nauseous. She also may have started backing towards the door. "My, my, look at the time, y'know I just remembered that I had someone I was going to meet. Really nice meeting you Principal Smith, I'm sure you'll be a great addition to the school."

Smith pouts a little. "Goodbye, Miss Callisto. Have a safe, learned, and enjoyable evening."

"Goodbye, Principal Smith." The second she reached the door, Callisto bolted for the dorms.

Understanding this was a place she liked to go, CJ walks in and sits at the bar. It seems strangely familiar, sitting in this particular chair and smiling at the bartender. He sets a whiskey sour in front of her, chock full of cherries, but she pushes it back. "Actually, tonight, I just need a diet coke, thanks."

Lorne flits about the room until he sees one of his favorite patrons. "Claudia Jean! Where have you been young lady? TINO! Get this girl a proper drink!"

Hearing her name, she turns with a smile, only to jump with a start. After the talking cat of a mayor, she really needs to become less jumpy.

"I'm...um...fine with the coke." she smiles nervously, certain she must know him if he gets away with calling her Claudia Jean.

"So where *have* you been young lady? I haven't been able to give you a proper Christmas present and serenade?" Lorne says, somewhat oblivious to her nervousness and mixing himself a seabreeze.

"I've been in the hospital." she brushes her fingertips into her hair, uncovering the lingering stitches surrounded by a week's worth of new hair. "I was in a wreck the weekend before Christmas." Smoothing her hair back down, she sips her coke and watches him make his drink.

Lorne gasped dramatically and spilled his drink all over the bar. "Claudia Jean! No! Surely you jest! No one had told me!"

"I'm ok! Really! Just banged up and I lost my car...and my memory." She smiles softly, trying to make it sound like no big deal.

Lorne's cheerful demeanor has completely gone now. "Oh. Claudia Jean."

It's obvious, he feels awful about it.

"Don't 'Oh, Claudia Jean me, Lorne. That's what...LORNE!" her eyes light up and she looks utterly shocked. "You're Lorne! I know you! I sang with you!" She reaches into her purse and pulls out a small tablet and writes in a strange shorthand, looking up at him a couple times as she smiles brightly. "Lorne."

Lorne smiles. "Oh don't tell me you forgot your favorite singing buddy?" he said in a jovial manner.

((And alas I'm hitting the sack. Slow play?))

"I've forgotten the last four to six months, babe. Dont' take it personal. My neurologist says it should come back, I just need reminders and stuff. How could I ever forget you...really?"
