The Perk, noon-ish

Jake had given up on tracking Krycek down the day before, so whether or not they were still dating was up in the air. Luckily, he thought wryly, it seemed like Logan was still dating him. Good thing for Mad Cow and crew, anyways. He shuffled into the Perk to get caffeinated before he began chasing Krycek down again.

Molly was rethinking her decision to wander through town today. She just wasn't used to how cold it got here. She really needed to buy some mittens and a scarf maybe.

She hurried into the Perk, hoping they sold hot cocoa as well, because coffee was icky.

Paige wandered in all wrapped up against the cold and wearing Sawyer leather jacket, she went and ordered a latte and on the way to take a seat noticed a new face.

"You're not just visiting right?" she asked pulling her gloves off

When new girl entered, Jake was giving his phone a wary look. He was contemplating calling Krycek again, but considering yesterday... He put it off for now and grinned at the new girl. "Hey! ...You look cold."

Molly shivered and grinned back. "I am. Very. Please tell me this place sells cocoa." She gave him a pleading look.

Molly smiled as she stood there shivering. "Right. New student. Just got in on Wednesday." She then turned to respond to Jake (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/514863.html?thread=20142127#t20142127).

Fred came in, laptop in hand. She orders a muffin and a hot cocoa and sits in the corner on a squashy armchair.

Paige waited til she was done then smiled, "So what do think of the place so far?" she asked.

Jake had to think about that for a moment, then he nodded. "Yes, yes, it does, but you should really try the mocha. It's awesome," he recommended seriously.

Molly made a face. "That has coffee in it, right? Bleh. Coffee is icky."

Mac wanders in, hands in the pockets of her coat, and makes her way to the counter. She's all ready to order a large capuccino, or the nearest they have to a super-caffinated drink.

Molly rubbed her hands together to try and warm them up. "It's cool. Not as boring or normal as I was afraid it would be." She turns to talk to Jake again (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/514863.html?thread=20144175#t20144175).

"I very definitely do." She grins, "practically live on the stuff. I'm Mac, and I am quite possibly addicted to caffeine."

Paige laughs, "Yeah normal's definitely a word anyone could use for this place, you've been warned about the Gremlins and stuff right?"

Paige wanders over and sits opposite Fred, "Hey Fred, not seen you in a while, how's things?"

Fred smiled a little but is seemed a little forced. "Oh you know, Evelyn left." Fred nodded and closed her laptop, still no email from Evie. "She, well she felt going back home was the right thing to do you know." Fred sipped her cocoa and broke a piece off her muffin. "How are you and James?"

"Yup. Gremlins, vampire, no more zombies and the squid has left the pool."

Jake lost the horrified look in favour of a pleased one. "Hello, new best friend, I'm Jake. I don't know who strange non-coffee drinking girl is." He turned his attention back to the first girl. "Who are you? Where are you from? Are you human? ...You can get your cocoa before answering," he added, generously.

Paige frowned sipping her coffee, "Oh I'm sorry Fred, I didn't know, I kinda keep myself now really."

She smiles despite herself then, "Me and James are really good actually, but you probably don't really want to hear about that right?"

The squid part was news to Paige.

"Well I guess that makes sense since Crazy Squid Lady left, guess she took it with her!" she says in all seriousness.

"The vampires have been pretty much harmless so far," okay so Angulus hadn't but by all accounts he wasn't here anymore, "so yeah it's pretty safe here considering, I guess all the...unusual students here helps with that."

There are a few people in the Perk when Aeryn stops in, and she heads straight to the counter to order her- alas- very boring small black coffee. While waiting for her order, she nods at the group because she's trying. That's her way of doing so.

Fred smiled a little "Yeah I've been kinda keeping myself to myself. There at the end I just, went to class then went back to my room. I went to Caritas one that, that bartended, Lorne. I guess he thought I was someone else he told me to leave, said I wasn't his Fred." Fred shrugged "After that I just, well like you said you have'nt really seen me around. I went to the registration thing yesterday though."
