An alley behind Caritas - Tuesday night

There was a flash of light and then Veronica found herself in the alley behind Caritas, Bel's hand still wrapped around her throat.

Remembering the self defense lesson he'd given her, she kicked out, aiming for his knee.


[ooc: locked to V, Bel & one other person that knows who they are. also, the fact that they were fighting is okay for broadcast, but not the actual content of the fight.]

Bel grunted as her foot connected solidly with his knee but kept his balance and his grip, squeezing her throat, enough to show he meant business, but not enough to cut off her air supply. "Well, that was convenient," he said with a grin.

"Go ahead and kill me," she gasped, struggling for breath. "Everyone saw us get kicked out of the club together."

"Tempting, tempting," Bel said. He let go of her neck and shoved her roughly against the wall of the alley, his arms on either side of her body.

Veronica reached up and rubbed her sore throat, glaring at him the whole time.

She took a moment to catch her breath before saying, "I seem to remember being told that you promised Phoebe you wouldn't try to hurt me again."

"But Phoebe, she hit me first!" Bel mock-whined.

Veronica rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I'm so sure that will make it all better. You really are an idiot, aren't you?"

"I'm not the idiot who thought that I was Angel. Why would I want to be with you when you're still in love with Logan?" he said dramatically.

"Shut up. I didn't even mean it. I was just trying to let Angel down gently."

"Then why did you tell me that Angel was right about Logan?" Bel smirked. "You're in love with him. Too bad he's got the hots for that new chick."

"My feelings for Logan are irrelevant and I really don't give a damn what little chippy he's banging these days."

"Fine, then you won't care if I tell him that you're in love with him."

"What makes you think he would listen to anything you said?"

"Maybe he will, maybe he won't." Bel grinned. "But it'll be fun to see the expression on his face."

Bel took a step back. "Watch me."

"Fine," Veronica said, smiling suddenly. "Just remember, payback's a bitch."

He paused. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Logan was driving to Caritas in his golf cart. He had just passed the alley when he saw a flash of blonde hair and heard a familiar voice. He pulled the cart over and quietly got out.

Eerily calm and still smiling, Veronica said, "It means that if you tell Logan I'm still in love with him, I'll tell Phoebe that you seduced Piper."

Bel conjured a fireball and backed Veronica up against the wall, reaching for her throat again with his empty hand. "You even think about telling her and I will turn you to ashes, bitch!" he hissed.

Logan didn't have a chance to process what Veronica had just said. He yanked his gun from waistband and pointed it at Bel. "You hurt her and I will kill you," he said coldly.

Bel let his hand fall from Veronica's throat, but still kept the fireball ignited. "Don't you remember the last time you tangled with a demon, boy?" he growled.

"I remember I survived," Logan said, stepping closer to Bel and circling a bit so he could take a shot without hitting Veronica.

"You think a gun can stop me?" Bel sneered.

"Guess I'll find out," Logan said, and pulled the trigger.
