Saturday Morning at the Mauvaise Chance

Waking up with the flood of sunlight, Whoa...that's weird., she blinks and rolls over to find herself beside Adam. Slowly, the night comes back to her. Dos Equis and XXX and somewhere between the explosions and the drinking game and the polite chit chat with Jenny...it turned into morning.

Rolling and stretching and climbing out of bed, she goes to the kitchen and makes a pot of coffee. Once she looks half decent, she takes her cup outside and sits in the quiet morning sunlight.

Orlin comes walking up with some bags. And sees some one he has not met yet.

"Hello," He says smiling pleasantly.

She smiles brightly, her cup held between her hands and warming her fingers. "Good morning, do you need help with those?"

"No I think I'm ok for the moment." He puts them down on the ground.

"You live here I'm guessing?" he asked with a charming smile.

"I used to, but no. I just stayed the night with a friend. I'm CJ, and you are?"

"I'm Orlin, and I am supposedly working for Quark, though I rarely see him." he said politely, but with a twinkle in his eye.

"Oh, the new landlord. Yeah. I heard. I used to live in #3, but I let it out to Adam. Would you like to sit down? Orlin...that's an unusual name."

"I live in #2. " Orlin replied, sitting down in the indicated chair. "I did not know my name is unusual though"

"I didn't know Beatrix and B.B. left! Huh, shows how much I pay attention." taking a sip, she looks toward #2, "Are you alone in there, or do you have room mates too?"

"I have the place to myself, which is good since I generally have something half built laying out in random places." He grinned. And breifly wondered who Beatrix and B.B. where.

"What about you, where did you move to?"

"I moved into the TARDIS, the blue phone booth in the park? I live there with the Doctor."

It simply doesn't occur to her anymore to explain further. Everyone in town knows about the TARDIS...right?

Orlin looked confused, TARDIS?

"Orlin? What did I say?" she blinks, genuinely unsure of what she said that he might not understand.

"What is... TARDIS?" He asked, with a fuzzy amused look on his face.

"Oh. Um...Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. She's a sort of sentient, um...like time machine I guess. And she looks like a phone booth." She looks so very earnest trying to explain this...not that she understands it at all, really.

Oh, this Orlin could understand. "She creates a pocket in reality where you can live in a larger amount of space then is visible from the outside?" Or something along those lines. He figured it was similar to the wormhole technology used where he was from..

She blinks.

Then blinks again as her jaw drops.

"Um, yes? I try hard not to think about it actually. But you pretty much nailed it."

Orlin grinned, he did like it when he knew what was actually going on.

"So what's it like in there?"

"Huge. I've gotten lost once, and there's more rooms than I can count. I stick to the main living area, mostly. But we did go to an amusement park in there once, and there's a pool and, um...you're not looking at me like I've lost my mind. This makes sense to you?"

"It sounds fascintating, "Orlin said earnestly, "I would love to see it for myself though."

"I'd love to have you over. Let me ask Ten, though. It's his and she's touchy, I guess. Sometimes she won't let people in."

Orlin smiled like a kid in a candy store.

"I hope she lets me in. And I would definately enjoy visiting. I like to see new places."

"Where are you from originally, Orlin?" She stretches her legs out and crosses her ankles, cocking her head to the side and smiling softly.

"I am from a galaxy far far away." Orlin said with a serious face. And then broke down and smiled. "Well something like that, I am from another universe entirely."

"Cool. I'm from DC."

Sometimes it stunned her how readily she just accepted these things anymore. And then again...it was Fandom.

"Do they like coffee in your far, far away galaxy, Orlin?"

[[ooc: There is no "Courtyard" at Mauvaise Chance anymore. When Quark took over, we remodelled. Extensively. In order to create a semblance of a standardized layout: which can be found here (http://landlord-quark.livejournal.com/1261.html). I totally got the okay from those current residents before doing so.

So, I totally allow whatever to happen at the apartment building, but I'd like people to stick to the layout I spent the good part of a day working on so we all could have a standard to look at.]]

...Yeah, there still is an outside. But the implications of "courtyard" is a bit extreme, as the complex is now more like a traditional apartment building. There wouldn't be anything near that elaborate.]]
