"I've killed lots of people!" Bel said defensively before he could stop himself. He winced. "I mean, um, this girl, I'm glad I didn't kill her. She's pretty cool I guess. It was just a big, um, misunderstanding. Something like that."

"I would ordinarily suggest red roses," Jack said, "but in your case, something living might be more...symbolic. Perhaps an orchid like this (http://img463.imageshack.us/img463/6992/34153ci.jpg) one? Or a purple hyacinth (http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/5584/68743nt.jpg) may be more appropriate. It means forgiveness."
