She shook her head very very fast, smacking herself in the face with her pigtails. "No. And I'm very, very, very hungry. Can we have Jell-o? I like the blue kind."
"Please? I like coffee and it's very good for little girls." She batted her eyelashes at him. If that didn't work, she'd pout. "An' then we should go play."
"No, coffee is very good for grown-ups. Like I told Janet, you can have it when you can vote," Daniel said seriously, putting the coffee maker on for himself.
"Later," she agreed, then slurped at her juice. She'd just steal his coffee when he wasn't looking. "Daniel, why are some boys stupid? Molly didn't know, and she's very very smart and gave us ice cream for breakfast and someone should pay her for babysitting."
Daniel blinked. "Uh, why are some boys stupid? Well, you see Sam, there's something called IQ. And not all people have the same IQ. Some have very high IQs - like you. And some people have very low ones, so they struggle to understand things and that's why people call them stupid. Some girls are stupid too because of that."
"Molly babysat you? So she's not, uh, small then?"
"No, Molly's big," Sam informed him, "and I know why people are stupid, but why is it mostly boys? Is it something in their," she lowered her voice, "you know?"
