Cafe Fina, Tuesday

Walter opened the restaurant on time after sleeping through Monday entirely. At least he had an excuse, but what was Wadsworth's, since he was supposed to open on Mondays?

Walter was rather disappoiinted not to see Wadsworth dangling by his toes from the ceiling.

Ah well, perhaps another day. If he were hanging from the ceiling, he couldn't take the dinner shift after Walter's lunch shift.

Wadsworth hosted a small dinner party over the weekend that apparently didn't go as he planned. It took him a little extra time to escape the police get back to Fandom.

After her First Aid workshop, Seras made her way to Cafe Fina to wait for Pippi for their handwavey lunch appointment.

Her hair? Still pink.

Seras looked up from where she'd been fiddling with Edgar, seeing what other surprises the cell phone had for her.

"Hi," she said with a smile, "What's new?"

"River and I think Berty might be on the lam." Pippi said clandestinely.

"Good afternoon." Walter called from a corner table with an excellent view that he was just setting bottles fizzy lemonade and ginger beer on to go with the glasses of ice already there. "Interesting hair decision, Seras."

Seras stuck out her tongue.

"What can I say, I wasn't myself at the time," she said, "Weird, weird weekend."

She raised an eyebrow at Pippi.

"Berty?"

"Berthold." Pippi explains. "He lives under River's bed."

Seras blinked.

"Is...he a student? If he has I haven't met him. Or River, for that matter..."

Walter did not stick his tongue back out at Seras. He was working. Tongue-sticking-outing was for off hours. Especially off hours when he wasn't in a bit of a pickle about sleeping through work the day before.

"I can't speak for Berthold, but River is a student here." A rather... interesting one. "What can I bring you two for lunch?"

"I think he's more like a pet or companion." Pippi said. "Like Mr. Neilson or Pup. And just bring me whatever Walter I trust your judgement."

"I'm with Pippi. Let's see a display of this 'butler-fu'."

Walter raised an eyebrow and disappeared into the kitchen, returning with bowls of Mulligatawny soup for both girls and a plate stacked with naan.

"Let's see if the ladies approve."

No brains for Pippi today.

Seras took a sip of the soup and made a very happy sound.

"It's fantastic," she said, and reached for a piece of the bread.

She's reacting to this much better then she did the brains.

"Excellent. Then I will leave you two to your lunch for the moment." He wanted to duck into the kitchen and try some of that soup himself.

"Oh just a minute! I've got something for you," said Seras and she reached into her pocket and pulled out one of the little gold coins she'd handwavily kept from last night's adventure on the sixth floor.

"Have you been working for Pippi," Walter asked, since she was the only person he knew who trafficked in gold coins.

Seras grinned.

"We went on a bit of a safari to the sixth floor, last night. When you go into room 613 and hit a brick, these pop out. Sometimes."

She reached into her pocket and handed another over to Pippi.

"Got one for you, too, Captain."

Seras smiled, pleased that her friends seemed to like their souvenirs.
