The Park, Thursday

After a quick stop at the Perk for scones, Aziraphale made his way to his favorite spot in the park -- a bench next to the pond. He settled onto it with an audible sigh, thermos of tea and paper sack of scones next to him, and thought about how nice it was to be back.

Pulling a scone from the bag, he proceeded to crumble it into pieces for the ducks. Just like old times.

[ooc: Phale is totally interruptable, or feel free to use for all your park needs! Mun might drop in and out of SP through the day.]

He heard that he might be back in town and since the bookstore no longer belonged to him there's generally only one other place you can find an angel in Fandom.

"Hello Mr. Phale."

"I guess you could say that," Marty replied with a grin. "Is this just a visit or are you back to stay?"

The bench Aziraphale happened to be sitting on also happened to be the one Jude habitually jumped on his way through the park. Practicing for the speed trials meant that he was moving a little too fast to stop entirely when he realised that may have been a little difficult this time, and ended up wobbling around the bench with a "Whoa! Duuuuuuude . . ."

[ooc: Since Aziraphale spends a fair amount of time in the park by the pond, it should be noted that the pond has a new permanent fixture (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0010rdwd).]

"Nah, bro - er, sir," Jude replied with a sheepish grin. "Been there, done that. Totally not as easy to jump as it looks."

[ooc: It's a lobster sculpture Walter and Nadia made (http://walter-n-wires.livejournal.com/35736.html) when she was supposedly leaving forever. We checked with admin and got the go ahead to leave it there permanently. At least one of the ducks has agreed not to besmirch it, too. Nice duck.]

"Thank you," Marty said sitting down next to Phale. "Yep. Still in school and I'll be graduating at the end of the year. So what's the terms of your reassignment? Are you taking over the bookstore again?"

"Nice to meetcha, du - sir. Er, 'm Jude. Yeah, I'm a student." Hopefully he still would be, anyways.

He looked down at the board that he was slowly rocking back and forth on and wilted a little. Another one. "It's a skateboard."

John looked up and saw leaves. This was because, after getting sloshed at Caritas, last night, he'd wandered into the park and passed out beneath a tree. He blinked and his hand darted automatically into the recesses of his trench coat to see if his cigarettes or lighter had been pilfered. They were still present and accounted for.

He groaned as he sat up, but, thankfully, visions of little blonde-haired girls had ceased to dance in his head. Something was poking at the corner of his mind, though, and his firs thought was The Snob? Here?

He glanced around the park, but there were no signs of that bloody, insufferable archangel. The bloke on the bench, however...

John narrowed his eyes.

"Yeah," Jude said, cheering a bit into his usual state of mellow. "Yeah, I guess so. Just not too many people knew what one was when I got here which got me kinda bummed as I'm like, practically attached to her all the time."

[identity profile] flash-mage.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
John sat up a bit stiffly and brushed off his trench coat. He flopped down on the end of the angel's bench and lit up his first cigarette of the day, exhaling smoke into the crisp morning air.

What could he say? Proximity to the Heavenly Host brought out the arsehole rebel in him.

John's inner teenage rebel, which was also now his outer teenage rebel, thanks to the fact that the Hosts of Hell were sore losers with no visible senses of humor, twitched at the chuckle and the 'my dear'. And, he'd thought being called 'kid' would take some getting used to.

Still, a free cuppa was a free cuppa.

"Wouldn't say no to one, Squire," he replied.

"Teaching huh? Sounds like I might have to take your course," Marty replied as he sipped the offered cup of tea. "Can't have you skip through the semester without me in a class."
