Evening: Sanctity

Zhaan was sprawled (if you could be sprawled on a stool), her feet propped up on the counter, and her body tipped back and leaning companionably into the wall. With her bare toes occasionally bobbing to the music, she was utterly engrossed in a novel.

It was possible that A Suitable Vengeance wasn't her normal fare for reading, but the mystery and dramatic events were rather engrossing.

Adjusting his glasses, Dr. Venture pushed his way into the Sanctity.

"I don't suppose you carry any sort of carnivorous plants, do you?"

Stark had wandered out in spite of the snow, or maybe because of it, and found himself in the usual place. The usual place being, of course, the door to Sanctity.

"Good book?"

"I'm looking for something that might kill a possibly-gay necromancer tenant," Dr. Venture said.

Stark considered this for a moment before nodding. "Better than a boring look, I suppose."

"...you're right, the boys would end up getting themselves killed too, wouldn't they? And it always runs up the electric bill prepping another set of clone slugs. Good thinking."

He crossed his arms. "I guess you probably still want me to buy something."

"Probably true," Stark said. And then, because he's Stark and fond of randomly changing subjects, added, "the troll-things didn't bother you this weekend? Good, good."

"Something easy to take care of, then," Dr. Venture said. "H.E.L.P.eR would just end up killing anything tricky. He means well, but... he's got the brainpower of a five year old hopped up on cough medicine."

Stark shook his head. "They're gone. Didn't bother me. Sometimes it helps I don't go out much," he said. "Just hit half the island on the head, I think." And honestly, it amazes him sometimes that the entire population of Fandom isn't permanently brain-damaged.

"Not likely," he agreed. "There is always something else. Next one might not have so many blows to the head though," he added, a bit hopefully.

((have to crash soon. meh.))

Dr. Venture pulled out his wallet, begrudgingly. "How much for it?" he asked.

"So do I. I mean, I like you in one piece. Though I like me in one piece too. Much better that way." Stark nodded a few times to emphasize the point before reaching up to take her hand. "Definitely best in one piece."
