Not that it would have been hard to notice a guy in red spandex carrying a large, clunky metal box through town while surrounded by a bunch of students, but weirder things had happened in this town, right? Right?

Fortunately, Conner had backtracked through all the back alleys last night on his way back from the reconaissance trip with Bridge, so he knew how to get to the right sewer grating with a minimum of fuss, but still. Bright red, and gold trim. Not exactly stealth gear, and whose idea had that been, anyway? (He so blamed Zordon, even though all he knew about the guy was from what Doctor Oliver had told him, and what he'd seen in the archive footage; maybe when you hadn't had a body for thousands of years, things like practical clothing didn't occur to you any more.)

When they reached the dead-end alley where he and Bridge had entered the sewers last night, Conner set the transporter device down and knelt to remove the manhole cover. "Here we go," he said, "and I swear, I am so paying for everybody's laundry afterward, too."

Because of course it wouldn't be easy -- a group of scaly (http://www.dyqatt.com//albums/Day%20of%20the%20Dino/prdt-dayofthedino120.jpg), lightly-armored (http://www.dyqatt.com//albums/Day%20of%20the%20Dino/prdt-dayofthedino115.jpg) lizard-men (http://www.dyqatt.com//albums/Day%20of%20the%20Dino/prdt-dayofthedino112.jpg) with bladelike claws for arms appeared from both ends of the T-intersection and charged the group. Looked like it was going to be time to fight their way toward Mesogog . . .

Billy moved silently with the rest of the group, mentally preparing himself for another fight. He would not lose control this time.

"Sneaking into an evil lair through the sewers. Another lesson the bad guys never learn."

Billy held his katana in one hand, and with the other drew his gun, firing a few shots at the charging lizard men.

A few of the shots hit and staggered the T-drones back a few feet, but two of them broke away and headed toward Billy. In keeping with their usual, um, strategy, they just went for a straight charge, blade-arms pointed toward him as they ran.

Billy quickly holstered his gun and didn't wait for them to reach him. He took a few steps towards them when they were close enough, jumped up, ~~and with unneccesary posing and flipping and shouting out exactly what he was doing~~ kicked off of the wall, launching himself at them, slashing at said arms with his blade.

~~Funny how all the posing and shouting made the T-drones feel right at home.~~ One of the T-drones took a deep gash to the shoulder as Billy's katana deflected off its buddy's arm and into him, and fell back, growling. The second twisted and tried to bring that arm in at Billy in a stabbing movement.

Billy landed in a crouch, blocking the blow with the blade of his sword. He tried to look for the chinks in their armor.

The armor wasn't very thick, luckily, and only covered their chests; their legs looked pretty vulnerable. The wounded T-drone, flailing its arms about wildly, slashed the air prettydamnclose to Billy's head, though, and the second one tried to kick out at his face.

Stupid cyborg dino things and their enhanced speed or something. Or maybe they got lucky.

"Son of a-!" Pain flared up in Billy's left eye, and what little light there had been down in the tunnel seemed to disapear.

Blinded, Billy took a step back, and stared at nothing.

Encouraged by that lucky hit, the T-drone took another swipe at Billy with the flat side of his blade-arm.

Billy had been holding one hand to his injured eye, but whipped that hand out, deflecting the blow towards the other drone, at the same time striking out with his sword. An Eye for An Eye.

Yay mad blindfighting skillz.

It was a good hit, and got the T-drone across the face all right. If the T-drone had any real intelligence to speak of, it would have been torn between being impressed by his mad blindfighting skillz or cursing them.

Luckily it didn't, and not like the T-drone could talk anyway.

And now they were both fighting blind, whee!

Billy did not hear the thing hit the ground so it must still be up. All his training from Storm Shadow and the Blind Master came back to him and he gave a grim smile.

He drew his knife with his other hand and stood ready.

Pip loaded his suppressed sub-machine gun and fired at the approaching...thing.

The second, wounded T-drone had somehow picked up on the fact that Billy couldn't see that well -- it was trying to sneak up on him from the side as its blinded compatriot slashed unseeingly at Billy.

Billy ducked the slash, jabbingh is knife into that Drone's arm, while swiping with his sword at the sneaky drone's legs.

The nearest T-drone started to crackle and spark as Pip's shots hit it, exposing some of the circuitry beneath its skin. It staggered back, clearly wounded and slowed down quite a bit, but being too stupid to try and retreat it pressed on toward him.

Pip reloaded the clip and fired again at the approaching T-drones, trying to aim for their heads.

The first T-drone to take a head shot let off a spectacular display of electrical sparks and slumped back against the wall, twitching. A few more, who maybe weren't a hundred percent stupid after all, brought their arms up to try and deflect the shots as they continued to charge. Sure, there was some staggering back here and there where the shots told, but they kept moving forward anyway.

Pip grunted, reached into a pocket, pulled out a few throwing knives, and sent them spinning at the T-Drones before firing another burst at them.

A couple of the knives glanced off the T-drones' scaly hides, and one or two got batted away, but several stuck. One in particular caught a T-drone in the eye, leaving him blind to the burst of fire that promptly took him down. The rest, looking a little more like pincushions, tried to spread out just a bit to avoid fire -- not that it was particularly easy in the confines of a sewer tunnel.

Peter made a mental note to be sure to do laundry. Tomorrow. Or later tonight if need be.
