The Devil's Nest, Thursday Night

All the Christmas spirit was really beginning to annoy Mazikeen. She was wearing a little black dress instead of her usual red and throwing away all the little umbrellas that were red or green in protest of the season.

The loss of the umbrellas made her sad.

The Devil's Nest is open for your non-Holiday related business.

She was ready to stab anyone with an excess of cheer.

Not a single decoration for the season around.

Christmas songs? Not going to happen.

They play Christmas songs at my work. NON-STOP.

At his table, sighing at Mazikeen's waste of umbrellas.

After his pleasant morning in the park, Aziraphale had headed back to the apartment to do some baking. So that when he and Wilson entered the Devil's Nest and walked up to the bar, the angel was carrying in his hands a good-sized plate of treats (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_14613,00.html?rsrc=search) wrapped in festive gold paper.

He'd taken Lucifer's advice to heart, and set the plate on the counter with a smile for Mazikeen.

"We know that you don't celebrate the mainstream holidays, of course. But you can always consider it a Solstice gift, if you like, my dear."

While Aziraphale ~~risked life and limb~~ dropped off the chocolatey goodness at the bar (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/1297445.html?thread=58511909#t58511909) for Mazikeen, Wilson peered about the Nest and ~~ran for his life~~ headed towards Lucifer.

"Good evening, Lucifer." He called out in a chipper tone, dark eyes twinkling with good spirits and no little mischief as he politely approached the Advesary.

Cally walked into the night club, a crate in her arms. When she figured out who to go to, she set the crate down on Lucifer's table and grinned.

"Today is your lucky day."

Mazikeen was torn between happiness over the baked goods and rage over the cheer with which it was presented. The fact that it was Aziraphale that gave her the food tipped the scale in favour of rage.

She reached under the bar for her sword, only to find it not there. It had been removed some time ago because Lucifer did not wish to clean up after Mazikeen after on of her tantrums. Oh and for the safety of the customers as well.

Clenching her fist, she hissed at Aziraphale. "KHy khould I azzept anykhing of yourzz?"

Lucifer watched Aziraphale approach Mazikeen with great interest. He was slightly sad that she didn't have a sword. That would have been much more entertaining.

"Good evening yourself." He nodded over toward the bar. "Does he have a death wish?"

After looking down at the crate like it offended him somehow, Lucifer turned his attention to the overly perky child. "Oh really?"

"Today, you will have the chance to purchase Fandom's finest homebrewed liquor," Cally said.

Looking over to where Phale stood at the bar, Wilson smiled.

"No, just brownies."

He had to hand it to her, she was doing a good job on the sales pitch.

But he wasn't the average customer. "I find myself un-enthused about this opportunity."

"Because it's kindly meant, and if there's one place in all the world where people don't have to be enemies just because of what they are, it's Fandom."

Aziraphale had noticed the move for what he had to assume was a weapon, and felt a little sorry that they had to begin on such bad terms, not because of any personal rancor but just because of the sides of a line they stood on.

And perhaps because of something in Mazikeen's past, he supposed, although he didn't know what it might be.

"Even at a bargain price of a mere four dollars a bottle, plus exclusive rights to further shipments which can be tailor made to suit your individual tastes?" Cally asked.

It was very personal for Mazikeen, not a party line. But she wasn't about to explain herself to Aziraphale.

"Don't preffume to zzhow anykhing about me," She sneered.

Oh, this would be interesting.

"She won't accept them from him. More likely to give you a big hug than to associate with his lot," Lucifer said, smiling at the mental image of Mazikeen hugging Wilson.

"Are the liquor laws on this island so lax that children can sell it?" He asked, avoiding Cally's question entirely.

Aziraphale shook his head. "Indeed, my dear, I don't. I don't know a thing about you at all, which is why I don't yet feel any reason not to include you in the holiday gifting."

He gave a little rueful smile. "I expect you have yours reasons for deciding to dislike me right off, but I do hope you might change your mind eventually. Or, at least, give me a chance and decide to dislike me for myself."

Glancing over toward Wilson and Lucifer, the angel added, "I won't bother you while you're working, Miss Mazikeen. I just wanted to drop these off, with apologies for having got off on the wrong foot initially, and to wish you a peaceful holiday."

"I'm not even from this planet," Cally said. "That's right, alcohol brewed by an alien. Think of how that would look on a drinks board."

Mazikeen glared in response, turning her back to him to look over the bottles on the back wall of the bar, dismissing Aziraphale entirely.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow and smirked at Cally. "Yes, I can see how people on this island would be impressed by that."

"So, we have a deal, right? Six dollars a bottle?" Cally said. "It's a steal."

Holding back a hurt expression, Aziraphale nodded to himself and then walked away from the bar, leaving the plate of brownies behind.
