Atlas Gym [Saturday morning]

Anakin was in the gym beating the crap out of one of the punching bags.

Force, but he'd needed this.

Every know and again he glanced towards the door, waiting for someone to arrive.

Aeryn arrives with her gloves and everything. When she finds her way around the gym to where she's supposed to be, she greets him with a "Hey

Anakin stepped back from the bag, wiped the sweat out of his eyes, and smiled. "Morning."

"How long have you been here?" she asks, maybe looking amused.

"Before the sun came up," Anakin admitted.

"You have really got to start sleeping," she says.

[sith_happened]

Anakin sighed. "I know," he said. "Maybe this'll tire my brain out enough to let me."

He gestured towards the bag. "Do you want to beat on something inanimate, or would you prefer a live partner?"

"Let me warm up a little?" she says. "I'd hate for you to think you have an advantage."

Anakin smirked. "Of course I have an advantage."

"Besides your own delusion," she smirks, stepping up to the bag and pulling on her gloves.

"My delusions are very comforting to me," Anakin said, leaning against a nearby wall and grinning.

The Pool

Jarod was still trying to reconcile himself to what had happened over the past week--the loss of his sense of self and memories of being nothing but an empty vacuum of personality were still frightening. When he had been at the Centre, he'd found a great deal of peace in the isolation tanks.

Fandom didn't have any of those, and he wasn't quite ready to go off the island to find them, so instead he was making due with the pool. He'd done some laps, then done some laps underwater, and now he was just floating on his back, his ears under the water, and appreciating the solitude.

She rolls her eyes but grins as she starts hitting at the bag. And if she's pulling out some more impressive moves, well, she totally is and she's doing it on purpose.

"Impressive," Anakin commented, eyes sparkling. "Most impressive."

"Thank you. I'm only doing this to impress you," she says dryly, throwing another punch. She actually kind of is.

Anakin chuckled. "My mistake, then," he teased. "Carry on."

She gets in a few more punches and kicks at the bag, making sure her muscles won't be too tight, and backs away from the bag, getting her breath back. "Ready when you are."

Anakin bounced lightly on the balls of his feet, then aimed his right hand at her head and his left hand at her midsection.

Man didn't mess around.

She shouldn't have been surprised by that, but she was. She manages to block the hit to her head, taking most of the one to her midsection. She rallies quickly, though, reacting with a left swing to his jaw.

Anakin dodged out of the way. "Maybe I should've given you more time to warm up," he teased.

She glares at him, moving to throw a much harder punch at his side.

He dodged again, but not quite fast enough to avoid the punch completely. His expression firmed. "All right, then, I get it," he said, aiming a kick at her legs.

She stands her ground but takes the hit, because she'd really rather not mess up and fall over. But she takes the opportunity to aim one fist at his stomach, the other at his chin.

His head snapped back with an audible click of teeth and he took a step away, missing the hit to his stomach.

He returned the favor with a one-two combination right under her ribs.

Good thing the bruises John gave her have healed up, because that connects, and she hisses, retalliating with a hard kick up to his hip.

...which was going to leave a mark. Anakin turned an undignified fall towards the ground into a roll, then lashed out with his leg towards her feet.
