Outside the TARDIS, Thursday Evening

The Doctor had handwavily informed everyone of his departure this evening. He stood outside the doors of his TARDIS, and waited. He normally disappeared without a word, but that didn't seem the right thing to do, here.

[ooc: Nadia and The Doctor are about to embark on their summer adventures. They'll be back in the fall... or maybe summer term two. If you think the Doctor woulda told ya, he did. If you think Nadia would have told ya, she did. OCD up!.]

The Doctor shut the door to the TARDIS behind Nadia.

"Got any requests?" he asked.

Nadia had sent out some handwaved emails, too, and had Furrball on a kitty leash while she waited outside for anyone who wanted to say goodbye.

Considering how determined Furrball seemed to be to destroy the kitty leash, he'd probably just end up spending most of his time in Nadia's room in the TARDIS, rather than out and about, but he'd done okay sticking to the dorm room lately, so she wasn't terribly worried.

Nadia took a moment to just look around the main room of the TARDIS and take it all in. She broke into a big grin. "Dios, I don't know . . . the whole universe is a really, really, really big place. . . ."

Annette approached Nadia, smiling slightly, "So you're leaving, eh?"

"Just for the summer. I still have two years of schooling to go, after all."

"Tell you what," the Doctor said. "How would you like to see... New New York?"

Nadia threw her arms wide and grinned. "I'm going to see the universe!"

Nadia gave him a Look. "I've been to New York twice, though."

"New New York," the Doctor said. "As in on the new planet colonized after Earth had to be abandoned due to its imminent destruction."

Laughing, Annette realized she was still holding the basket she had bought for Nadia. "And that would be amazing! I got this for you, a few little snacks (http://basketsbybonnie.com/images/gourmet/web06deli3.jpg) for your trip."

Nadia blinked. "Okay, yeah, that could be really frickin' cool."

She was almost vibrating. Give her a few more moments, and she'll be bouncing.

"What do I need to do?"

The Doctor pointed at the dematerialization switch. Preprogrammed the coordinates? Of course he had.

Well, that message he'd received from the Face of Boe had seemed important, after all.

"Flip that," he said.

"You're welcome, Nadia." she said, smiling. "You just take care and have a safe summer, okay?"

Nadia made a face, though her smile still came through. "Safe is over-rated. But I promise to come back whole and healthy."

"Then that is good enough; whole and healthy, can't ask for more than that," she said. "Well, I'll see you when you get back. Adios, Nadia," she went to give her a hug goodbye.

And then the TARDIS started its flight.

"And now, we wait. And out those doors will be a completely different world."

Yes, she specifically said "no getting caught" and not "no sneaking around".

Nadia was moderately overwhelmed by the sounds of the TARDIS, the way it moved . . . "How long does it take? I mean, to get billions of years into the future?"
