Hannelore had been on a bit of a downward spiral into breakdown-ness, but was feeling better now that she'd managed to get the waterspot on her ceiling to go away. If it hadn't, she'd probably be completely unhinged.

"MOUNTIE FRIEND!" Winslow yelled from the counter.

"Oh, hey," Hannelore said, looking up from couting marshmallow Peeps sent to her by a woman in Vermont.

"Hello, Winslow," Fraser greeted. "And Miss Ellicott-Chatham. How are we today?"

"Excellent!" Winslow proclaimed.

"I'm fine," Hannelore said with a tired smile. "You can call me Hannelore, seriously. I have friends who call me Hanners. You could call me that if you want? My name's just really long. How're you?"

"I'm very glad to hear that," Fraser said, nodding at Winslow. "Hannelore, then. And I'm very well, thank you for asking. Summer sessions always prove slow in terms of what I have to do so I've decided to explore."

"Do you need anything counted?" Winslow asked curiously. "'Cause that's what Hannelore does. It's her job and it's really important."

"I don't at the present moment but that's only because I was unaware she did that here," Fraser replied. "I'll be sure to bring something next time."

"It's an OCD thing," Hannelore explained. "And people are lazy, so I count their stuff for them."

"I help!" Winslow said.

"Do you?" Fraser asked. "I'm sure you help quite a lot."

"I'm helpful and don't let Pintsize mess her up like he always wants to," Winslow said happily.

Hannelore rolled her eyes. "Sorry. He's chatty today. I gave him some fresh parts."

"It's no bother," he said, smiling still. "He seems to be very protective of you."

"I have to be!" Winslow declared before Hannelore could say anything. "'Cause she counts things and forgets stuff and sometimes she doesn't sleep and sleep is important."

"Winslow, you can stop talking any second now."

"Sleep is very important," Fraser said seriously. "You should sleep more, Hannelore."

"I would if I could," Hannelore said, shrugging. "Nothing works, though. And I get by okay."

"You don't sleep at all?"

"Going on two days now," she said. "I get like three or four hours and then can't sleep anymore."

She kind of hoped he didn't think she was crazy. Even if she was.

"That doesn't sound very healthy," Fraser said, concerned.

"Most of what I do isn't," Hannelore said, shrugging. "But that's what happens when you have mental disorders, I guess!"

"And you're used to this sort of thing?" Fraser asked. "Should you see a doctor?"

"I've been in therapy since I was a kid," Hannelore said. "I had to move to Earth for it, actually. So yeah, I see a doctor."

"Does Winslow sleep?"

"I need to recharge!" Winslow chirped. "So sometimes! I run on batteries though."

Stan was out for a wander, and saw a place he had yet to investigate. "Hello?" he called, entering the shop.

"Oh, I'm reminded, Winslow, I have a surprise for you," Fraser said, grinning.

Hannelore glanced up. "Hey! Do you need something counted?"

"For me?" Winslow asked, bouncing around. "Is it more RAM?"

"No more RAM for you, oh em gee," Hannelore muttered.

"I... uh... Not at the moment?" He rather stared at her.

"Not quite," Fraser said. "I was able to place an order for a specially made Mountie uniform for you. It should be delivered within the week."

"You totally didn't have to do that," Hannelore said, smiling a little.

"It was no trouble," Fraser said, waving a hand. "Glad to do it. And yes, really. It's specially made and comes with a hat."

"Oh. Uh. That's what I do here?" Hannelore said, staring back.

"Oh. Um. What do you count?" he asked, picking a piece of lint off his sportcoat.

"A HAT!! Hannelore, I've never had a hat!" Winslow enthused.

"That's because they don't usually fit you," Hannelore pointed out.

"Anything," she answered. "People are lazy and I'd do it anyway."

"So if I were to ask how many threads comprised this sport coat?"

"I'd need time, but I could do it," she said, nodding.

With a shrug he took off his jacket and handed it to her. "How much time? A week?"

"A week would work," she said, snapping on some gloves and taking the coat.

"Excellent. And how much will this cost?" Stan wondered if he should try to barter services, as he had some suspicions.

"I'm sure it will look very nice on you," Fraser assured him. "And I made sure it fit as well."

"Depends on how long it takes me. I can give you a rough estimate?" Hannelore scribbled a totally handwavey figure on a slip of paper and slid it across the counter.

"Will I get a horse?"

Winslow felt this was Important.

Stan nodded agreement. "I'll come back in a week. Or you can call me," he said, sliding his business card across the counter.
