Fast Eddie's, 7pm

After catching up with each other at the music festival, Charlie and Dean headed to Fast Eddie's for pool lessons, and pool hustling lessons. Charlie was chalking her cue with extra concentration, and wondering who else might show up. From all the messages she left, someone had to. Right?

Charlie had never played pool before, and was wondering if this was going to be embarrassing.

The lanes are open.

No destroying Fast Eddie's!

"So you wanna get some food before we play?" Dean asked.

"Sure, I didn't really have lunch, just a drink and some popcorn at the festival," Charlie said, digging into her purse. "Maybe a hot dog and split some nachos?"

So, Chad was there....as Charlie's message indicated he shoudl be. He waved to her as he considered starting a game of bowling, and hoped he could avoid having to admit that he'd forgotten about the plans they supposedly made...

Charlie waved back to Chad, cheerfully oblivious to the invitation she'd issued. "Hey! Good to see you."

"You got it. My treat." He went up and ordered food for them both. While they waited Dean said, "Man, you wouldn't believe some of the voice messages I got today."

"Oh? I got a couple weird ones. Mostly they just didn't make sense." Mostly. She was still boggling over Professor Deadpool's. "What happened with yours?"

"Well Sheppard called me to inform me he'd never kiss a Skywalker," Dean shook his head and shrugged. "Why he felt the need to inform of this. And then there were the two teachers that were kinda hitting on me. I think."

"Hey, no problem," Chad responded, and was about two seconds away from apologizing for forgetting before he stopped himself. "You really into bowling? Anyone else gonna make it? I had some trouble contacting people..."

Charlie's eyes widened. "Was one of them Professor Deadpool?"

"We were going to play pool," Charlie said, a little hesitant. "And I think other people are coming? I left a lot of messages." She frowned, trying to remember if she'd left one for Chad. Hunh. Well, better to not hurt his feelings and imply that she hadn't. "If they don't, you're welcome to join our game."

"M'not much good at pool, either," Chad admitted with a sigh. "I was...kinda hoping Ted would show up..."

"Awww," Charlie said, then suggested, "Why don't you call him now?"

Dean stared at her. "No."

"Okay, that... doesn't make it any less weird." She frowned. "Who did call you?"

"'Cause I've called him, like, eight times already..."

"Vala. Who made some vaguely dirty comments about the word expunge. And... I think it was Professor Lyman -- the one who runs Student Council? He went on about wanting to get to know me before doing kinky things and then told me he wasn't like Sammy who accidentally slept with a hooker."

Charlie winced. Trouble in paradise, or just with his phone? "We are totally playing a game with you, right after Dean shows me how to hustle pool," she promised. "Maybe his phone is just broken?"

"Maybe," Chad said, rethinking this whole idea. "I think maybe I'll just grab something to eat, say hi if anyone else shows up, and then maybe head back...If you don't mind..."

"Your brother slept with a hooker?" Charlie blinked, hard. "Accidentally? Wait. Is that even possible? I mean... wouldn't you know? Unless the hooker was off-duty, I guess...."

"No, that's okay, I totally understand," Charlie said, a little relieved. "Tell him I said hi? And I'm sorry to get you out here without anyone to play against." Poor Chad. He was really sweet. Teddy didn't deserve him.

"It's no problem," Chad shrugged. "Oh, but, while oyu're here. You should stop by the store on Monday; I'll have my new cat there to meet Flopsy, Mopsy, and...uh,...the other one."
