Alphonse did not forget to post this week, woot came in to open the store, as usual. Once everything was properly set up, he opened the doors for anyone wanting to come in.

Naminé poked her head around the doorway, and then smiled at the boy behind the counter. "Hello again," she said lightly. "I seem to be drawn to this store. How are you?"

"Naminé, hi," Alphonse greeted with a smile. "I've been doing good, myself; how about you?"

"Alphonse," she smiled. "I've been very well at times, decidedly less so at others. Which isn't much of an answer, is it? I can't quite believe the first term has ended already."

"It went by quick, didn't it?" Alphonse said. "You're doing okay now, hopefully?"

"I am, thank you. A bit worried for someone, but perhaps I worry too much. And I received a letter from an old friend, so at least I know that he's all right." She shook her head. "In some ways, it seems as though I got here just a day or two ago, and in others it's been ages. Prosaic, but true."

Worrying too much was something Alphonse was guilty of himself-- he knew that, and often had others remind him of that, so he gave her another light smile when Naminé mentioned it. He understood the feeling. "Yeah, I get that. Sometimes I can't believe how long it's been for me, too. But I'm glad to be here."

"I am as well," Naminé said, smiling a little to herself. "I'm beginning to think that perhaps I'm supposed to be here, which is reassuring. How long have you been here, in Fandom? If it's not rude to ask."

"No, not at all," Alphonse assured. "It's almost been a year and a half for me."

"I suppose you've rather settled in, then," she mused. "Is it everything you had imagined? A year and a half. I wonder if I shall be here that long."

"I can't say it's what I expected it to be," Alphonse answered with a small chuckle. "I wasn't sure what I was imagining this place to be like before I got here... Well, aside from it not being anything like it actually is."

Naminé laughed. "There is that. They warn you fairly early; nothing is what it seems, random oddness usually only lasts the weekend, and most of the time, you're perfectly safe, if also guaranteed to find yourself in weird predicaments sooner or later."

"The warnings are good, even if they're hard to believe at first," Alphonse replied. "... And sometimes it is, even after they happen; you just accept the weirdness around here."

"I suppose that's how I shall know I'm a native," Naminé laughed. "When I wake in the morning and all of the residents of my hallway are fish, and the carpeting has turned purple with yellow spots, and my nose is upside-down, and I simply roll my eyes and say 'Ah, yes, it's going to be one of those days.'"

Alphonse couldn't help but laugh. "I think that sums it up correctly."

"You know," Naminé said, "if that exact sequence happens tomorrow morning, I won't know whether to feel prophetic or as though some higher power of Fate is mocking me."

"I try not to test it," Alphonse said, still snickering. "You never know if there's something out there actually listening to what you say."

"Perhaps instead I should announce loudly that I would be most distressed if, tomorrow morning, I were to wake up and discover a million dollars sitting outside my room." She nodded. "I would, too. Most upset."
