Luke's Diner, September 25 (Tuesday)
Yitzhak had learned something new today: the busboy was scared of mice.
Of course, he'd learned this because he'd watched said busboy try to climb up into the dish storage shelves when a mouse ran across the kitchen floor. Okay, so it had been a windup toy, but it had been fun to watch the kid scream and flail.
Until he managed to flail all the dishes right into a big smashy shattery heap on the floor, anyway.
Everyone was going to be eating out of styrofoam takeout containers, today . . . and as for the metric tons of flatware shards, they'd been shoved into boxes out back. Yitzhak kind of hoped the artist kid would use them for something, and leave the Post-It Notes the hell alone.
Luke's is open, and not very environmentally friendly today.
