The Arms Hotel Lobby, Tuesday

In the wee hours of the morning, Jeff poked his head into the lobby.

A few moments later, Nana slid in through the gap between door and doorway, settling behind the desk.

Slowly but surely, Jeff's head vanished from the door, and it shut with a click.

Murdock had officially scarpered.

Gunther really hadn't had a very good night (http://montecito-east.livejournal.com/16695.html). As he staggered back from Efferton Manor (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2370388.html?thread=106449492#t106449492) with his recovered loot, he stopped to see if that weird kid was at the desk to help him fix his Christmas tree.

And stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Nana instead.

Poor Gunther. The holidays just weren't very good for him.

Gunther screamed and ran for cover behind the buffet table, losing his prized leopard-print beret in the process. He screamed for Benito to get out of the kitchen and rescue him.

He forgot that his former sous chef Benito was still in Las Vegas and the sous chef here had a different name.

"No!" screamed Gunther, momentarily forgetting his fear. "I vant my hat back!"

That was enough to spook Gunther again. This time, he ran for the kitchen without looking back.

Nana may have won this round, but Gunther wasn't ready to give up yet.
