Annette wasn't planning on having a busy day, so she settled behind the counter with a current fashion magazine, intent on pretty much being lazy. In fact, she was planning on napping after work so she would be energized for the party tonight. Nothing like doing what she could to forget that Dick was in Los Angeles with Vernica. Because yeah, that went over well.

Putting in her ear pieces, Annette switched on her ipod -- no need to dwell on something she couldn't change.

The Post Office is open.

Ino wanted more sleep. Nevertheless Ino was up, and like she'd told Kabuto she would, showed up bright and early at the Post Office with a tea from the Perk in one hand and a parcel in the other.

"Morning!" She said to Annette.

Annette smiled and removed her ear phones. "Hey, Ino. How's it going?"

She got a dazzling grin, while setting the parcel on the counter, "Kabuto let me kick him in the balls last night!" Because, really, that said it all.

...

Yeah, that would be Annette's jaw dropping.

"Say that again?"

"He let me kick him in the balls." Ino grinned at the surprise on Annette's face.

"That might be worse than tasering. And he let you? What guy in their right mind -- wait, my, uh, name wasn't mentioned with any balls, was it?"

Er...

"He let me! I said I wanted to hit him, and he said go ahead!" She was very cheerful about this, yes.

Blink. "What?"

"I just don't want him thinking I gave you any ideas. Cause we were talking about balls yesterday. Wait. What? You kicked him in the balls by your choice? He didn't say, 'Hey, Ino, kick me in the balls?'."

Ino went into a fit of giggles at the idea of Kabuto saying that to her. "He said I could hit him anywhere and that he wouldn't dodge - and he said to make it count." She grinned unrepentantly. "So I did. And he's a medic so any damage I did was, like, healed right away." Yeah, she wasn't going to feel bad about this ever.

...and Annette finally burst into a fit of giggles over it all. "Omigod that it totally perfect! I can't imagine getting to kick a guy in the balls like that!" Seriously. She wished she could have had the chance to do that to Trevor. Kicking is just so self-satisfying.

"What did he do afterwards?"

"Isn't it great? And he wasn't mad at all! He wanted to know if I felt better," she said, "and I told him he was forgiven and then he kissed me."

"Yay! I'm so glad, Ino! So you guys have made up totally? Tell me you'll be coming to the party tonight, please?"

"We're totally going." Ino assured her quickly, "He doesn't know it yet, but we're going." She bounced, "And we're as good as we ever are!"

"I'm so glad. Sounds like Kabuto just needed a good swift kick in the balls," she snickered, cause yeah, she wouldn't let that one go for a while.

"Uh, so I heard on the radio that you visited A.J. yesterday? How is he?"

"Green hair!" Ino said gleefully. "Despite people back home wanting to shave it off!"

"I bet it looks good on him with all that floppy hair," she grinned, trying to picture it.

"It's adorable." Ino nodded, "I totally picked the right colour." As if just realizing that Annette probably wanted more actual news, "And he's good - had lots of fun back home, and is happy to be back here."

She nodded and looked down at her magazine. "That's good. I'm glad he enjoyed his holiday and had a fun time. That's really great."

Ino bit her lip. "You could try talking to him? Weren't you guys going to give it a shot after the holiday?"

"Yeah," she said, smiling slightly. "I'll wait until he's ready. I've forced myself on him too much, Ino. I don't want to start over that way, you know? I don't want to come across pushy or... yeah, I'll wait until he's ready to talk to me, if he's ever ready."

"I'm sure he will be with time." Ino said supportively, "I'm sure of it."

"Thanks, Ino," Annette smiled appreciatively at her. "I feel better about things and I'm hoping he does too. But if not? I'm cool with that too. Sometimes things get so far ruined that there is just no hope for repair." She sighed and shook her head. "But enough of all of that... "

"I hope to see you tonight!"
