There was only a mild hint of a frown on Cable's face when he sat down to listen to the radio broadcast again. By the time he'd thrown the Open sign on the door, there was little trace of it.

He moved quietly into the meditation room.

Ino slipped in, early in the morning, and glanced around the shop. "Morning, Cable-san!"

As was often the case, Ino was met with nothing but silence and the emptiness of the shop.

She shrugged, rolling her eyes a bit, and went to fuss with her plants. Which probably didn't need fussing, but oh well. Cable-san would be out when he wasn't busy.

He knew she was there. Still, upside down in the meditation room, Cable just smirked, and called out--

I do know how to water my plants, Ino.

She blinked. Ino was pretty sure that hadn't been out loud. "... Cable-san?"

Same for those in my apartment. A pause. Although if you add any more, I might run out of breathing space.

Okay. Ino wrinkled her nose. "Plants help produce breathable air Cable-san," she said heading down the hall to the meditation room and knowing what he meant and choosing to take it another way, "you can't run out of breathing space." Room to move on the other hand...

She stopped at the door and blinked again upon seeing him. "You're upside down."

"Very perceptive," Cable deadpanned. "Depends on how you define space."

She stuck out her tongue at him. "Well my perspective says you're upside down." Pause. "Can I learn to do that?"

"Not without many years of training."

The faint hum of blue twisted with him as he moved out of his position, his feet hovering momentarily above the floor before touching down. "Unless there's something you haven't told me."

"I can walk on walls?" Ino offered, "But I don't think that'd help me float upside-down."

"It's only about forty-five degrees off." He stretched his right arm a little.

She raised her eyebrows. "I can walk on the ceiling too, you know. But that's not floating."

"I was kidding." Stretching one more time, Cable walked through the door. "Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Training," Ino said promptly, making a face at him, "and uh, I'm helping Michael learn to control his powers and thought you should know." She looked sheepish. "We might need your help at some point."

"What kind of powers?" He strolled easily into the store, heading for one of the gun cases.

She tagged along behind him. "Um, well, that's kinda why we might need your help," Ino admitted, "we don't know exactly. He can make things float, set things on fire, explode them, and melt walls. But yesterday he created an illusion of what he was picturing by accident--he didn't even know he could do that. So, if there's anything more dangerous that he doesn't know about and we can't stop it..."

"I'll look into it." Making careful mental notes based on Ino's words, Cable pulled open one of the cases and took out the handgun they'd used before. "Come by next Monday."

Cable-san would take care of it. She grinned at him, relieved. "I will," she promised.

The gun made her smile more. "I've got club today too," Ino told him brightly. It was going to be a very gun-filled day. She wasn't complaining.

"So I've heard." Cable brushed past her again, shooting her the faintest of smiles, before heading into the shooting range. "How's your progress?"

Not that Triela hadn't already told him.

She followed him, shrugging. "It's okay," Ino said, "my aim's not bad."

"You've been running the exercises?" When they'd both arrived on the range, Cable handed her the gun.

And then the cartridge. In that order.

Ino looked mildly indignant as she took the gun and cartridge, properly putting them together. "Of course I have been." She did take training seriously after all.

"Don't point that there." Cable eyed the gun critically. "Show me."

"I'm being careful," Ino insisted, even while making sure to point it away from them.

She assumed the stance they'd been working on last time, glancing at him for permission to click the safety off and shot.

Another glance at Ino, and then Cable nodded his head. "Shoot."

She grinned at him, clicking the safety off and taking a moment to make sure her stance was good before aiming carefully at a target and pulling the trigger.
