Lucas was distracted again today. None of the news he'd managed to get from Karen was very good. All his mom could say was that Haley had left town with some musician guy.

Lucas set up at the ticket booth and tried Nathan's number again.

He didn't think he was going to get much accomplished on that new 19th hole.

There's mini golf and go karts!

Who was a little busy with his phone, trying to catch his brother in an answering sort of mood.

After radio last night, Brooke was sort of thinking she needed to have some catchup time with Lucas, which was why she was going to mini golf after class. "Oh, look, just the boy I was looking for."

"If it isn't Brooke Davis from the future," Lucas replied, looking up from his busywork. "Come to tell me why Hales left town?"

Oh, right. That. "No, but I'm kind of wondering if she didn't just get so sick of the whole being good thing that getting married junior year just wasn't enough rebellion for Tutor Girl," Brooke said.

"Because getting married at 16 wasn't weird enough," Lucas shook his head.

"Haven't talked to her, huh?" she guessed, putting the gossip hounding on the back burner some actual sympathy.

"I've had a hard time getting through," Lucas admitted. "I'm thinking I might need to go see Nathan. Find out what happened there." They were so new to this brother thing, he really felt he should be there.

"Hope he's doing okay," she said, because back home Haley still wasn't back and the whole situation pretty much sucked. "I mean, I'm sure he's not okay, but you know what I mean."

"I do," he nodded. "How's your headache?" He listened to radio and even paid attention sometimes.

"Huh? Oh, that," she said, shaking her head. "Happily done for. At least I don't have to ask if you listen."

"'Course I do," Lucas replied, "Invasions class taught me the squirrels are everywhere."

And there was her train of thought completely derailed. "Squirrels in Invasions class?"

"Yeah, I got to talk to one of them," he said. "Today we fought dinosaurs."

"So guess what, I hate this town more and more," Brooke decided.

"That whole angel statue thing worked out alright," Lucas reminded her. "And you usually sound like you're having fun on radio with the creepy squirrels."

"The squirrels are only creepy until you get to know them. And that one can really put away the rum. I don't think that's healthy," she said. Who would have thought she could get defensive over woodland creatures?

"You get to know them?" Yeah, that was normal.

"They're like coworkers," she explained. "Look, of all the weird things to get used to here, let me start with the little things."

Lucas laughed, "Weird is talking to you while having heard the other day that you are living in my room."

"No, I'm not," she protested, pretty sure she remembered this whole week.

"Back home," he clarified. "The, uh, younger, other you."

"That will never not be weird. I'm living in your room?" More weird now, even.

Lana had napped for an hour or two after class, pulled herself together, and decided she had to get out of her room. She seemed to recall that Thursdays were one of the days Lucas worked and thought she'd stop by and say hello.

She saw him before he saw her and just took a moment to watch him with a smile on her face.

"Completely weird," Lucas agreed. "You are, my mom said something about your parents moving. I guess I'm catching up to your time."
