A not so early Xander today, made up for (possibly) by a dorky grin and an easy job. "No screwing around on the job today, because we're working on a very, very important safety project," he told the assembled grads, oglers, civic-minded volunteers, masochistic teal deer and passing squirrels.

"Testing out the playground equipment. Not kidding <snicker>, folks. This is serious business! Anybody I see having fun is totally fired."

Hey, those swingsets need to be weight-tested. Some people have GIANT children!

Xander brought milk and cookies. Yes, enough for everybody.

You should probably check out the jungle gyms too. Just in case.

If for some reason you're lame enough to stand there watching instead of testing the equipment. Sheesh, grownups.

He'd be the guy over here painting the frog rider purple and wondering if the squirrel rider has a hidden camera in the nose. ...Or otherwhere.

Today was totally the best day ever! Meg got up on the swing and tried to go as high as she could.

For testing purposes. Really.

Meg could definitely rock the jungle gym. Oooh, handy dandy cheerleading skills.

Climbing on top was not a problem. Did he look a little odd? Probably. But who cared. It was fuuuun!

Amber loved the swings. She could sit and swing all day long.
