It wasn't really fair; if he was just someone else, he couldn't give her that look that made her just want to bury herself in the ground forever. What kind of person made a unicorn upset, except a really awful one? But she wasn't that type of person, so Turtle drew in a breath and, eyes averted, looked to the floor.

"I know," she said, "that you're really upset with me right now, and I can't go back and change what happened last weekend, and I hate using the excuse that it wasn't really me, so I won't. Fandom is weird and does weird things to people, but that doesn't change that I still did it. I just want you to know that I would never intentionally put you through something like that, but it's still really nice to know that you cared as much as you did."
