Lobster Hut, Thursday Late Evening

Myn still kind of had a hard time thinking of it as a date, but it was a good kind of confusion. The worries were easily squished and shoved out of the way.

He showed up a little earlier than the time he'd agreed to meet Eric, getting them a table but not ordering anything without him.

Which had nothing at all to do with not really knowing what was on the menu. Nothing at all. Really.

(for one, but open for your seafood needs!)

After his trip by Caritas (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/3232853.html?thread=136767573#t136767573), Eric was feeling quite a bit more confident about the evening. ... And also maybe a little drunk, but only a little. Barely tipsy.

He's a teenager from the Upper East Side. One scotch is nothing.

"Hey," he said, as the hostess showed him to the table Myn had gotten. "You haven't been waiting too long, have you?"

"Good!" Eric said. "I just kinda... vegged all day," he admitted. "But I swung by Caritas before coming here... I, uh. I may have told someone about us? A friend from home."

"No, he was really supportive," Eric said. "I'm sorry, I should have... I know I should have asked you before telling anyone? But I didn't really intend to, and... I mean, I just said that we were going on a date."

Eric shook his head vigorously. "No, that wasn't it at all!" he said, trying to reassure Myn. "I just... Chuck's been really nice to me since I got here." And if he sounded a little confused about that, it's because he was. Chuck did have a... reputation... back home, after all. "And I trust him."

"On the menu?" Eric asked. "D'you trust me just to order?"

"Any allergies I should be aware of?" Eric asked, then, as he perused the menu more carefully. He'd never done the ordering for another person before, but he'd seen it done. And had it done for him several times, of course, growing up.

"Two surf-and-turf," Eric ordered, when the waiter came by. "With a one-pound lobster for me, and a one-and-a-half for Myn, thank you. And a bottle of the Yellow Tail Chardonnay, please." He glanced at Myn. "You don't mind wine, do you?"

The waiter -- mockingly -- asked for ID. Eric merely smiled and slipped him a hundred.

Eric nodded. "I'm just... used to wine with dinner," he said. "It's pretty common back home. Especially with lobster."
