Liir was still a kitten today and so, of course, that meant Ino absolutely had to bring him to work with her again.

“I should teach you to meditate,” she mused, setting him down on the floor. He blinked up at her with big green eyes.

Then she remembered what had happened the last time she’d tried that when he wasn’t even a kitten. “Or not,” Ino said decisively. Last thing she needed was Liir’s spirit separated from his body while he wasn’t even his usual self. Oh well.

“Whatever,” she said, laughing. “I’m going to meditate, at least.” And settled in to do just that.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

And here's Lana calling again.

Ino kinda figured by now that, really, if she was getting a phone call... then it was from Lana.

This did not stop her from chirping, "Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center, how can I help you?", once she'd picked up the phone.

After all, chances were that the one time she didn't say that would be the time that she got in trouble for it.

"Hi," Lana said with a smile. "Guess what I'm doing this weekend."

There was a moment of silence. "...wild and whacky adventures of a university student?"

"Spending it with Shawn?"

Awwww.

"You talked to him!"

"Yeah," Lana said softly. "We... we decided we're going to give a long distance relationship a try. Guess the weekend meant a lot to him, too"

She turned that over in her head.

"How're you feeling 'bout that?"

"I'm nervous and excited all at the same time," Lana admitted. "I want to try it, though."

"Never win if you don't try, yeah?" Ino smiled. "I hope it works for you."

"Thanks," Lana said. "I do too. It helps that I can use Lex's jet when I want."

"Which... does make things easier, yes."

"Yeah, makes the distance a little easier to span," she said with a smile.

Ino laughed. "And now you've got an excuse to use it more often!"

"Which Lex will love since it'll give him a little more leverage against me," Lana said. "He can coerce me into coming back to Smallville more often. Which is a perfectly acceptable trade-off."

"There you go," she said, giggling. "Perfect all 'round. And how many people can say they've got a jet at their disposal, seriously? That's awesome."

"It is, isn't," Lana said, giggling herself. "Not to mention the vacation houses around the world I could use. Having a billionaire for a sort of guardian has its benefits."

"Some people," she said airily, "would call that an unfair advantage. But for you? It's all good."

Lana laughed. "Oh, it's totally an unfair advantage, but I don't always get a lot of those, so..."

"That's why it's good for you," she said, giggling. "'Cause everyone deserves some kind of unfair advantage."

Lana laughed. "Fair enough, I guess. ... In its unfairness!"
