Romeo should have been planning a Christmas sale and making sure the shop -- and Jenny -- was readied for the possibility of Black Friday shoppers.
Instead, he was playing Super Luigi Brothers on a Game Boy he'd dug from the bottom of his closet. He'd get back to his duties after he saved Princess Fungus.
The shop was open.

"Nande?!?" Yurika whined, rubbing her hands together. "It's coooooooold. What is wrong with this country?"

"And good day, love."

He turned the Game Boy so she could see the screen. "I have no idea why I was doing this today. I haven't played in years."

[ooc: Was getting notices before, and now I'm not. Woe.]

"And yes. I used to be much better at this."
[OOC: I've been getting NONE all day. And yes, I'm shamelessly deciding Verona has the same weather as the real L.A., hush.]

"What else does Ben have to say for himself?" Yurika asked, pulling up one of the stools to sit at the counter. "Or was it all about the secrets of the Game Boy that girls aren't allowed to know? Which, I always hated that. Game Boy. Like girls don't enjoy little mushroom people and hitting things."

He gave her a teasing grin and passed the Game Boy over. "Do you want a turn trying to rescue the princess?"

He

She bent her head over the game, giggling as she pushed the buttons. "Ha! Beware the wrath of the Yurika, little people!"
no subject
He grinned as he watched her. "Make sure you jump for the coins."

"Not that we have sports for them to cheer for."

Niiiiice.
"Or start a poker league or something, and invite them to cheer there. It'd be a great distraction technique."

"Oh really?" The game was abandoned on the counter so she could pout at him slightly. "That's all you can tell me? Really?"

"Well," she tried slowly, looking around the store, "you need someone to model some of the new holiday sleepwear for you, don't you?"
no subject
He paused. 'Did you know a model you could set me up with?"

Like kissing. Yurika leaned in just the small fraction to close the space between them, intent on opening negotiations.

She'd bribe him about the frat-stuff later. Now she had a Romeo kissing her, and that was much more important.

This Yurika, however, needed to breathe, and she eventually (regretfully) pulled her lips away from his. Which was probably for the best, considering how the kiss was starting to push the bounds of the PG-13 designation and the store was still open.
"I'd suggest we continue our discussion elsewhere, but you have work to do, and I'll have to go to class soon," she murmured, looking sulky. "Stupid cooking class."

"And if you want me to come back later..." Yurika smiled at him, batting her eyes. "I bet that could be arranged."

"Hai," she agreed. "I'll text you as soon as I'm done with class. Sound good?"
