Charlotte had gone to the Perk with the intention of getting a little bit of work done with the added indulgence of a holiday-themed latte, but ended up getting distracted for a good while with a phone call from her brother, the two of them discussing how Charlotte got to be the lucky one with not being expected to show up in Connecticut for the York family gathering. "I'd love to see you try to get out of Christmas, though," Wesley had said, and Charlotte countered it with the defense of, "Yeah, but I'm missing Black Friday in a place with actual stores. Sure, I'll keep my sanity, but imagine the sales I'm going to miss!"

The conversation continued for a little while longer until Wesley let her go, and then Charlotte found that the 'work' she'd intended to do just wound up being surfing the Internet for some good Christmas present ideas.
